We're excited to feature "The Way Out" at this year's Waterloo Buddhist Film Festival, Oct. 26 at The Registry Theatre. Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh proposes a re...volutionary approach to tackle Planet Earth's climate change crisis. The way out is in, he states. The way out of climate change is inside each of us. His invitation is to stop: to stop running and to take a good look at what is really going on; to what our visions are, on which we base our behaviour, how our thought patterns and our emotions work, and why we are climatologically in trouble. In silence we can better understand ourselves and the earth. The Way Out follows two young people - a Brazilian banker and a British activist - during stressful periods in their lives. Will they be able to save the earth beginning with(in) themselves? Tickets are $50 for adults and $35 for students. The event feature 3 films and a vegetarian meal catered by Cafe Pyrus. Tickets available at http://www.wrdharmacentre.com/filmfest.html See more

We're so excited to be offering this incredible film - the last film featuring the late, great, incomparable Harry Dean Stanton. Acclaimed character actor John ...Carroll Lynch’s directorial debut, Lucky, is at once a love letter to the life and career of Harry Dean Stanton as well as a meditation on mortality, loneliness, spirituality, and human connection. Rolling Stone Magazine says, "No one who cares about movies and those rare actors who can elevate them into something unforgettable would dream of missing this scrappy, loving tribute to a virtuoso." The event also features a catered vegetarian meal by Café Pyrus. The Waterloo Buddhist Film Festival takes place Saturday, Nov. 3 from 4-9:30 p.m. at The Registry Theatre, 122 Frederick St. Tickets are $50 for adults ($55 at the door) and $35 for students ($40 at the door), available online at http://www.wrdharmacentre.com/filmfest.html This is a fund-raising event for the Waterloo Riverview Dharma Centre, a non-sectarian centre for meditative practice in the Buddhist tradition. WRDC offers weekly meditation groups, beginner’s courses, children's programs, workshops, retreats, evening sittings, visiting Dharma teachers, and a resource library. WRDC is a registered charitable, non-profit organization. Your support at the Film Festival is deeply appreciated.
