One more sleep!! We have been busy preparing the clinic for health safety so that you can book in with confidence. If you still aren't quite ready for a face to face appointment we are happy to tell you that we will be keeping the virtual appointments as an option. Those that have connected virtually already will tell you how awesome it is in these crazy times! See you tomorrow, where after first screening, our therapists will be waiting!

Your Waverley Road Physiotherapy Team are busy preparing our clinic for opening! We are waiting for the the final go ahead from the government and the NS College of Physiotherapists. We should find out more on Wednesday May 27, but we are really hoping and planning for June 1. We will keep you updated as soon as this is confirmed. We all know there will be some adjustments that we need to make in order to safely proceed so here are a few things that will be new to your tre...atment appointments. We've scheduled in an extra time to enhance our cleaning procedures between each patient, and to limit the flow of patients in and out of the clinic. We've rearranged our common areas to allow for social distancing. We have also installed plexi glass at the front desk for that extra barrier of protection. We'll be wearing masks, and we'll ask that you please bring one too. The good news is you do not have to social distance from your therapist, but we will have to all have to wear a mask. We also will modify some of treatment modalities until we have further direction from the government and college. But rest assured, as always, we will do everything we safely can to get your feeling and moving better. Extra hand sanitizer and disinfectant has been stocked up on and we have increased our cleaning protocols. The number of patients and therapists in the clinic has been reduced, and we will be pre-screening with a Covid-19 Self Assessment Checklist. This check list will be completed with all staff and patients before and upon entry. Physio by Video: It has been a great adventure to be offering treatment virtually. We loved staying connected to you! The therapy staff were surprised at the amount of support we can give our patients online with education, self treatment techniques, and exercises. These virtual appointments have been so well received, we will be definitely keeping them as a service, even after we open our doors to in person treatment. We look forward to safely reuniting with you! It has been a very long time without you. ~ The Waverley Road Physiotherapy Team

If you need us please call 902 466 2273, leave a message and we will get back to you!... We have begun to get the ducks in a row for a return to business. We have stocked up on personal protective equipment (masks, gloves and face sheilds) , plexiglass (Concept Plastics) at front desk, extra soap, disinfectant and hand sanitizer (Coldstream). We will be ready when province gives us the green light. Until that time, reach out if you need us.

All HRM Parks are now CLOSED. This includes Shubie Park, Cyril Smith Park, Point Pleasant Park etc. HRM supports the provinces decision to declare a state of emergency. Municipal staff will continue to work with the province to align with recommendations of health officials and orders issued under the Emergency Measures Act.... The municipality is committed to taking important steps in reducing the spread of COVID-19. Consistent with the decision by the Province of Nova Scotia to close all provincial parks, all municipal parks, beaches, playgrounds, sports fields/courts, and trails are closed until further notice. Services deemed essential under the provincial order will continue to operate. Municipal staff are currently determining service level adjustments related to a provincial state of emergency, including Halifax Transit, and will issue announcements as decisions are confirmed. A provincial state of emergency does not impact public safety service levels or the need to maintain a level of core public services. All standard essential services of the municipality including 311, fire and police are operational and adhering to the most updated guidance and precautions from health officials. Residents and businesses are advised: Under provincial authority, individuals who are found in breach of the order will be subject to fines issued by provincial and local police enforcement. For more information on municipal services during the COVID-19 pandemic, visit Halifax.ca/coronavirus. Thank you for helping with the community effort to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. Hello patients, friends &family. I know many of us have been attempting to navigate the best practices for our health while dealing with the Covid-19 virus uncertainty. What we do know for certain is that as sanitized as we can be, the one aspect we cannot change is the social distancing. For that reason we will be temporarily suspending clinic appointments until further notice. Effective March 16th,2020. We, along with many more physiotherapy clinics across Canada are... being supported in this decision by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. It is not an easy decision, we don't like to have you in any discomfort. We will not be discharging any patients, just putting things on hold until otherwise safe to resume. Those that have appointments we will call you and we will reschedule you at a later date. If anyone is asymptomatic and have not been around any of the risks of contagion but need our immediate help, please call 902-466-2273 and leave us a message as we will be checking these periodically throughout the day. We will do our best to be there for you. Your Waverley Road Team

Update COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Nova Scotia has no confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of March 13 with 226 negative tests completed. Residents who have travelled out of country and who develop a fever with a temperature of 38C or higher, and/or cough, should call 811. Do not call 811 for information. 811 is reserved only if you have symptoms.... More details can be found on the NS Health Coronavirus website: http://www.nshealth.ca/coronavirus or 811 Website: https://811.novascotia.ca/ HRM has established a dedicated webpage for status updates regarding COVID-19 at https://www.halifax.ca//emer/corona-virus-disease-covid-19 Health-care workers, teachers, civil servants and other public sector employees who travel anywhere outside Canada will have to stay at home/self-isolate away from the public for 14 days after returning to the country. These measures also apply to students of Nova Scotia public schools and children in regulated child care centres who have travelled with their families, even if their parents or caregivers are not public sector employees. The chief medical officer of health is also encouraging individuals, employers and community organizations to limit social gatherings to no more than 150 people to limit spread. This could include events like weddings, church services, movie theatres and concerts. This measure will help protect vulnerable Nova Scotians who are at greatest risk and will be reassessed as the situation evolves. The province is also working with the federal government to delay the start of the cruise ship season. Nova Scotians should think about additional measures they can take to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, such as: avoiding close contact with others (keeping at least two metres or roughly six feet apart) avoiding crowds and gatherings like parties and other group activities staying home if ill, especially if you have a fever and or a new cough -practicing good hygiene remains the best defense against illness. We need to ensure that we are all taking the necessary precautions in hand washing as we normally would for a flu season.
