A big thank you to everyone who participated, presented, and organized the 6th annual Western Canada Addiction Forum! It was fantastic to see so many people actively engaged and interested in addiction medicine. Please consider recommending us or writing us a review here on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
Thanks for coming, Last Door Recovery Society!
Pharmacist, physician, toxicologist Dr. David Juurlink just gave a fantastic talk about Drug-to-Drug Interactions. He has noted that he has many open source journal articles available, and here is one he has written titled "Drug interactions with warfarin: what clinicians need to know". Sourced from CMAJ.
Today is our last half day of the Forum. The last two days have been inspiring, educational, and many people have said that it has "filled their cup" and reminded them why they continue to work in the field of addictions/substance use. First up this morning we have another talk from our keynote speaker Dr. David Juurlink on non medical use of prescription drugs other than opioids. Next, we have pharmacist Mr. Bryce Wong, Dr. Jeff Harries from South Okanagan, Dr. Jag Khalsa speaking more on cannabis, and then wrapping up the Forum with a debate about Harm Reduction vs. Abstinence and everything in between with Dr. Rob Tanguay, Mr. Marshall Smith, Dr. Charissa Patricelli, and Dr. Annabel Mead. Remember, you can follow along with live tweets all morning over on Twitter @wcaforum !
