Overtime chronic stress and anxiety can wreak havoc on ou...r minds and our bodies leaving us tense, nervous, short of breath and even risk chronic illness. This Yoga Alliance course taught about stress, anxiety and trauma affect on the body and mind. The science behind the power of certain yoga poses and mindfulness practices to relieve stress, anxiety and trauma. A growing body of researchers shows that practicing yoga can cultivate calm; and consistent yoga practices can help re-balance the nervous system and activate what is known as the relaxation response.
