How to paint an accurate picture of Bernadene ... Did you know that Bernadene has a wonderful teenage daughter on the Autism Spectrum? She understands the struggles of the parents and also of the children through each stage of development. ... She chose to expand her formal psychology training into Play Therapy as she believes that kids are often able to communicate best through play. Plus we think she just loves playing with toys and the kids Want to find out more? https://www.northwestpsychology.ca/playtherapy.html #playtherapy #childpsychology #yycchildpsychologist #calgarychildpsychologist #mentalhealth #kids #expressyourself #play #love #ASD #autism #parenting #spectrum

Have you ever considered a gratitude journal? Sometimes writing things you are grateful for regularly can help you focus on the good things, even on days that are a bit harder than others. Looking for some prompts? Here are a few we can suggest :... Write about a person in your life that you’re especially grateful for and why. What skills or abilities are you thankful to have? What is something you’re grateful to have learned this week? What materialistic items are you most grateful for? Mastered a new yoga move? Journal it! Remember that your gratitude journal is for your eyes only, so you can write anything you feel without worrying about judgment from others. #gratitude #journal #selfcare #happiness #love #mentalhealth #yychappiness #happy #grateful #thankful #nojudgement #yycpsychologist #calgarypsychologist

Today is World Kindness Day The trend with this day is for you to commit around three random acts of kindness to others. They don't have to be extreme but often the small things can make a big impression on someones day. Compliment someone, send a kind email, write a letter or poem, support a local store, or just say hello from behind your mask as you pass people in the store.... We would love to see pictures or hear of any act of kindness you have experienced or given. Even if you send them to us via a message instead of making it public here it really does make our day. #kindnessday #mentalhealth #yyc #supportlocal #yycbusiness #happiness #yychappiness #yycnow #worldkindnessday #kindness #happy #love #support

In 2010, Sesame Street staff began consulting with educators, psychologists and activists, and Sherrie Westin, Sesame Workshop’s executive vice president of global impact and philanthropy, decided to put resources into an autism initiative. Creative teams worked with experts. Staff visited clinics and schools. And Julia finally made it on to the screen as the first character with Autism. Julia is sunshine-yellow and never without her beloved rabbit, Fluffster. She has fun wi...th her good friends Elmo and Abby Cadabby, two of the most popular characters on Sesame Street. Julia was even featured on a float in last year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Today is Sesame Street Day and we just wanted to point out this awesome character that is now part of the program. #sesamestreet #julia #elmo #cookiemonster #bigbird #muppets #sesamestreetparty #jimhenson #oscarthegrouch #disney #sesamestreetbirthday #s #muppet #kaws #snoopy #bertandernie #puppets #sesame #sesamestreetmemes #ernie #themuppets #puppet #memes #love #sesamestreetcake #SesameStreetDay #autism
