WBYO has got your back! . The amazing youth in our Girls and Boys World programs have been hard at work over Zoom creating unique designs on backpacks that will be filled with items to give to the homeless population of Winnipeg. Our goal is to paint 100 backpacks, but we need YOU to help us reach our goal! Currently we are in need of at least 63 new or gently used backpacks that our kids will paint, like you see in the photo above, and gift it those who need it most. . If you, or someone you know, can help us complete our project, email in to [email protected] to set up a drop off time for backpacks.

A huge WBYO Virtual Hug goes out to our 2019-2020 Academic Allstars! They celebrated this afternoon with unlimited pizza, lemonade, chips... in addition to other prizes and surprises. Thank you Leah! . . Member of Parliament for Winnipeg Centre, Leah Gazan, joined Homework Club this afternoon for what would have been the last day of school for many of our youth in homework club! Ms. Gazan shared the path she took, from being told she would never graduate high school, to becoming a professor at the University of Winnipeg, a well-known advocate of human rights, to becoming a member of parliament representing our neighbourhood. The University of Manitoba Bisons Football Head Coach Sean Oleksewycz joined Homework Club this afternoon for what would have been the last day of school for many of our youth in homework club! Coach Ollie shared what university athletics is really like with our youth - tons of hard work! The University of Manitoba Bisons put academics first - just like our youth in homework club - sometimes, athletes are writing exams on planes so they are writing at the ...same time as classmates back at U of M.
