It is a beautiful day and has been a beautiful week changing over seasons . Well good morning we finally did it @westgateflowergarden .... changed over seasons, I’m sure a little later than most but we truly have now embraced this month of September as a special hard working team. To reflect on days past I’m so moved at how busy we have been in fact yesterday was another day for the memory book....... literally running out of flowers by noon and still not saying no to anyone. We have since restocked ready for a new day. So what is different running... our flower garden during a pandemic we have been asked so many times .... basically it has been a time for us as florists to shine our flowers amidst our world stronger than ever. We are doing lots more spontaneous creations at a minutes notice which is where the true gift of a florist/designer shines. It’s harder to predict with often big orders happening the day of which keeps me on my toes, but I love the love our now team have for their job and we are blessed with such fabulous resources to lean on. Thank you as always @hollandiagreenhouses @unitedfloralwholesale @cambrianflower @twigstwisted and all the many others in our lives. We are still only able to accommodate two customers at a time in our wee shop which in general is not how I like to be but we continue to want to keep everyone and our team safe. What has truly touched me is when multiple customers will pop their heads in , realize we are full inside and say I’ll be back and they really do come back even if it’s hours later. Thank you for respecting us and seeing that we are doing the best we can do as we continue to strive to be a strong stand in our community. It is always an incredible honour to be invited to be apart of a bridal couples special day through our flowers . This family has run ever so close to my heart since forever why could that be ....... they did not know me but for years and years this brides’ dad has visited our flower garde...n over and over always for a beautiful rose. It was not what he bought that touched me as much as how he never ever failed to stop and chat to my team of girls. He always took time to chat to them and give them credit and give so much gratitude. I will never forget each of his visits . Despite being the principal of a high school and would I’m sure have so much on his mind he just never failed to make my young team members feel special. To me that is a testimony to how as a world we should connect with everyone we meet. Thank you Trevor and Marla for being a beautiful ray of sunshine in our flower garden. So when I unexpectedly received an email from this bride I could hardly wait to meet her. That moment when she entered with her mom I felt like I knew her forever. she has the beauty of both her parents and I got the opportunity to capture that beauty through my flowers. Dearest Sydney You planned your vision and you gave me the opportunity to capture that vision and your beauty in a way that brought me the greatest of joy . I could tell you had some favourite flowers that I promised myself I would get . The week before your special day I learnt that those ranunculas and bright eyed anemones could not be local as the season passed just one week too early. I prayed we could find them and I give the biggest thumbs up to @unitedfloralwholesale for bringing them in from afar two days before their special day. I was sooooo happy and so grateful, as I wanted nothing only the best of the best. On August 22 @westgateflowergarden we had the busiest weekend of the year full of beautiful bridal couples. Despite all the uncertainty that came with this pandemic two of our couples were able to keep their original dates but not without many changes . Their grace in which they handled everything overflowed my heart every time we met to reorganize details. We will share each couples special day separately. I promised I had a new something to share before our day was complete @westgateflowergarden and so here it is ..... A few months ago this lovely young lady connected with me expressing how much she would love to become a florist in our flower garden. For those that know me would know the thoughts of training a young girl from scratch and introducing her to the world of flowers wherever that would take her would make my heart sing. This young lady’s name is Melissa and after g...iving of herself for nearly two months now a few days a week to see if she would like to pursue floristry I am overjoyed today to offer her a position as apart of our team . She has accepted with her whole heart . Melissa again congratulations on truly working for your place with us. You are an absolute treasure to have around and I have no doubt you are the perfect fit. I’m excited for us all to continue to learn and grow together with our flowers . When asked her favourite flower colour she says pink but I have observed she is excited with every colour flower she holds. She has a gentle caring and loving personality making everyone feel welcome as they enter and she’s already becoming familiar with her flowers and bouquet making. Welcome September @westgateflowergarden #westgateweddings wow it is so amazing g how a new month has arrived with such delicate and yet such vibrant and variety of colour. We never tire of a new season but I sometimes feel no words can describe how grateful we are for the amazing month just passed despite experiencing everything that this unusual year has brought with it. The connection remained strong for our many bridal couples and we look forward to sharing a little of the...ir magical day over this next week. The connection also remained strong for our special on line children’s workshops . These elves and their families overflow my heart. Many have asked me how do we sign up or how do they find our workshops . As we begin this new month I want to especially give thanks to the many many special people of our community who have got on board with our 12 month of flowers gift certificates . Some have been apart of it renewing and renewing at the end of their 12 months since like forever and we are so grateful to them . We could write a book on all the extreme specialness that happens around our flower garden and maybe one day I will indeed put all my gratitude and love for our flower garden, fellow florists, mentors and our community and simply my personal journey into many pages .
