"There’s a snack to go with every whiskey, but not every snack goes with every whiskey. We explore some different types of snack categories, from salty to sweet to spicy, to see what matches up with bourbon, rye, and barrel-proof bourbon." Has anyone had the chance to visit the Glenora Distillery on Cape Breton Island? "Since water is arguably a whisky’s most important ingredient, Bruce made sure that ours was tied directly to Cape Breton. Our water comes from MacLellan’s Brook; the purest and cleanest source of water in Cape Breton. MacLellan's tumbles out of the Mabou Highlands, runs through Glenora Distillery's grounds, and can be found in every whisky we produce." - Glenora Distillery #NovaScotia #Whisky #GlenBreton #WhiskeyTeller #AnnapolisRoyal Opening Early 2021

Many buildings in the Town of Annapolis Royal, particularly the lower part of town, the business district, was ravaged by fires through the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Ian Lawrence’s book Historic Annapolis Royal, has a entire chapter dedicate to documenting a series of fires throughout the history of this town. These fires, were usually large an destroyed several buildings at a time. Church street was not spared, and in 1888 our building was completely gutted by a fire. This picture (from Ian Lawrences book) shows the building in 1900, after being restored.

Remember that safe we shared a few weeks ago?! Well here it is installed in its final home, behind the bar at WT. Whiskey Teller, isn’t a whiskey bar, but we will be putting a lot of emphasis on good, and great whiskeys. Now, not only will the safe serve as a conversation piece, it’s also where we will store our exclusive bottles.

The unveiling of the brick interior walls of this 126 year-old building takes us into its past lives. Did you know that it was built in 1884 by John B. Mills, a member of parliament, to serve as a Bank of Nova Scotia.
