Boozhoo, The Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre is excited to host another session of Women’s Self Defense. We are offering the self-defense class as a 1-hour zoom session covering common escapes and movements effective in Self Defense. The sessions will provide very thorough details of movements and techniques applicable to personal safety. A partner to practice with is strongly recommended. Training opportunity for Indigenous youth! Register for SEED’s online Money Stories money management training! - For Indigenous youth ages 15-30... - Four two-hour sessions - February 2, 9, 16, 23, 2021 - 5-7 PM - Must have a device that can connect to the internet so you can participate in the workshops via Zoom. A certificate is provided upon completion of the program, and Money Stories graduates will also be eligible to participate in SEED’s Junior Facilitator program. Topics covered include Money, My Community & Me, Building Assets, Goal Setting & Problem Solving, Gathering Information, Budgeting, Banking, and Credit.

The Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre is continuing with our online Powwow Club. Thanks to how well classes went in the fall, classes have been extended to a 90-min zoom session of Powwow Club. This new platform will allow for more singing and dance instruction.
