This always happens but keeps the bugs away lol
This beauty of a black bear just chilling on the couch at the Nakina dump. Notice the bucket of KFC. Lol
I like the way he cuts the rib cage from the back.
Removed a few trees this weekend
Fishing season opened today but may be a little challenging. Should be melted in the next couple days.
Water will be turned on today but is non-potable until we get it tested. Paul and I will be searching for our water leak near the lakeside sites so there will likely be water disruption to those sites until we find and fix the leak. Hilltop sites shouldn’t be affected.

The Ontario government has announced that private campgrounds are allowed to open to seasonal campers beginning on Sat, May 16th. Hopefully, in a month or so, we'll be able to open for overnight guests as well. We have strict guidelines to follow in order to keep everyone safe but it's a start. Emails have been sent and phone calls have been made. See you soon!
Covid-19 Information Wild Goose Lake Campground will open, as planned, on May 15, 2020 but please be advised that public health and safety is our top priority and, therefore, will comply with local/regional regulations regarding safe capacity, reduced service operations, social distancing, stringent cleanliness protocols, and more, as we receive this direction. We are continuously getting updates from the Canadian Camping & RV Council regarding this ever-changing scenario. We will keep you, our customers, informed of any changes.
Another summer has ended. Thank you to all our guests, especially our seasonal campers, for staying with us. Hope to see you all next year.
It always amazes me how some people really don't care. I'm forever picking up bottle caps, cigarette butts, twist ties, and other random litter, trying to keep the campground neat and tidy.
On Saturday, August 3rd, a Nygard rep will be here with her sales booth at the campground. She offers a great selection of ladies' clothing. Browse! Try something on! Make a purchase! Don't miss it!
Huge thank you to Pete & Tracey, Nicole & Ross, Jen & Robert, and Warren & Rachelle for donating towards our fireworks last night. We appreciate it very much.
Getting our fireworks ready for tonight. Love it!
Yesterday we had a torrential downpour that lasted about 10 minutes along with a few power bumps. As a result, we had a beautiful double rainbow. Now you know that the end of the rainbow leads to Wild Goose Lake Campground. :)
S'mores are delicious
Too cute not to share
Here's a recent 5-star review: Ken Samson ***** 16 hours ago The owner was very friendly and working very hard at getting the grounds ready. I needed a ladder and she was very quick at telling me where to find it.... You can find more reviews at https://business.google.com/reviews/l/11562393093943019890
Great opening weekend. It's always nice to see all our seasonal campers back for the summer. Even though the weather was cool, some of the kids went for a swim on Saturday. Young & brave. :)
We're officially open as of yesterday! The ice has melted off the lake; just in time for fishing on Saturday. Pictures taken on May 13, 14, 15, and today.
Today turned out to be a pretty productive day. We chlorinated the water system, hoed the garden, moved the last of our winter firewood, and cleared snow off of some of the sites so they can dry up this week. The grass by the office/house is even starting to turn green. I think spring has sprung!
Went for a walk through the campground today and took some pictures. We're about 4 weeks behind with the weather. This looks more like the middle of April. We're expecting warmer temperatures this week so most of this snow should be gone by next weekend. We have 10 days until we open.
The sun is shining and it's a beautiful day! Today I'm going outside to start cleaning up the campground.
I wish I could say that the grass is green and the flowers are blooming but I'd be lying. It snowed again this morning but luckily just a bit. Campsites still aren't cleared of snow yet though. It's a very late spring this year. Hopefully no ice fishing on opening weekend. lol
That's a great tent. Yes, I would be just fine.
Took these pictures on Easter Sunday. The snow is melting slowly but steady. It was a little cooler today but it was still warm enough to melt a little more. Let's hope that the snow they're predicting on Thursday misses us completely.
Our winter wonderland
Patiently waiting for the snow to melt so we can start getting the campground ready for opening on May 15th.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas & a happy and healthy New Year!Wishing you all a Merry Christmas & a happy and healthy New Year!
A little late in the season but you know what I'm talking about. :)
This is the road going towards the campground. The colours are phenomenal this time of year.
Officially closed for the season. Thank you to everyone who stayed with us this summer. See you next year.
Well the summer is coming to a close but we're still open until September 30th. The weather is beautiful. The nights are cooler. The fish are biting and no bugs. My favourite time of year. We're working on some videos of the campground so keep an eye out for those.

Our Canada Day fireworks that we had postponed until August long weekend.
Interesting cloud that rolled in with the short thunderstorm we had this evening.
Postponed our Canada Day fireworks until last night. It was fantastic! Thanks to everyone who donated towards the display.
