Great Blue Herons commonly live along lake shores and slow moving rivers. A very large bird at 97cm long with a wingspan up to 175cm, the Heron stands in the water on their long legs stabbing fish with their long bills. They also will dine on frogs, small water mammals and aquatic insects.
