Our condolences go out to the Bidzinski family after the sudden passing of Vic Bidzinski. Vic was a fixture in Strathcona County politics for many years and someone who we frequently saw at local events, his presence will be missed.

The new UCP has almost double the decided vote share of the NDP, 57% vs. 29%, as well as an 18 point lead in Calgary, a manageable 8 point deficit in Edmonton, and a staggering 48 point lead elsewhere in the province. This bodes well for our chances of victory in 2019, but we can't do it alone, we need your support as we go through the Unity processes, be it by attending AGMs, participating in policy conventions, or some other way. The new UCP is a great opportunity for us to shape the future of this province!

Today's the Big Day! Voting has begun and you are now able to help decide the future of the Conservative movement in Alberta. Unity will help unite like-minded Conservatives, holding the NDP to account, and hopefully to one term. With a 75% requirement it won't be easy, meaning each and every vote matters, so please, take the 5 minutes out of your day to vote online at unityvote.wildrose.ca, by phone at 1-855-269-4484, or in-person in Red Deer, at the convention.

The quote below applies to us as well as the U.K. We have to educate the public about the difference between free-markets (a human right), free-market capitalism (the most effective creator of wealth) and crony capitalism (granting power, subsidy and regulatory favouritism to special interest groups and corporations). We need to be clear and consistent that we fight for freedom because it is what gives everyone access to societies' benefits. If you are a Tory leader without a strong argument about wealth creation and how it happens made well in advance and repeated through speeches and policy then do not be surprised when some voters conclude that this contest is really a competition between parties offering different sizes of magic money tree.
