Shoulder Rehab - Early Phase! Early in shoulder rehab, when things are more painful and irritated, it’s important to focus on building the foundational movement patterns in a pain free range. These are some of my favorite ways to get the shoulder moving again after an injury. We are working primarily on rotator cuff activation, and scapular retraction. The goal of these is not speed or weight, but rather re-building optimal shoulder mechanics.... If you are currently having trouble with overhead reaching, modify the external rotation and press by removing the overhead reach aspect until you have progressed properly back into overhead work. Ready for a Great Core Workout? There is a difference between an ab exercise and a core exercise, and today I want to show you some of my favorite core exercises. A good way to think of "core training" is how well you can stabilize your trunk, maintain a strong base to move/push from, and generate movement around your spine. (More than just sit ups)... These exercises can give you some ideas to add into your core training. Most of these are focused on your ability to resist motion of the spine while moving your body.
