It's taken me nearly 60 years to learn how to hold steady when the world around me seems to be crumbling, and becoming ever more crazy. And in the end, it's a s...imple thing, really. Though, like all the simplest things, it's maybe the hardest to learn. It's a sense of my own calling, of personal vision, of that unique gift which, like everyone, I believe, I chose to bring to this world at this time. Focusing on that doesn't stop my dismay, horror, occasional rage but it helps me to hold steady in spite of it all. So if you're feeling unmoored, just ask yourself what am I here to offer, to become, to do. In all my teachings around 'calling' I emphasise that once you have a very clear sense of it, you suddenly find that you've lost some of your attachment to outcome. That doesn't mean you don't care any more, or don't want to work to change things. It means your locus of attention changes. Instead of asking 'What did I achieve?', or 'How much of the world did I save today?', you ask 'Did I give everything I could, and should? Did I live today in full expression of that unique gift I embody? Did I stay true to my calling, my soul-path?' The whole idea of that ancient notion that each of us carries a unique flame, brings a unique gift to the times in which we chose to incarnate, means that each of us has our own way to keep the fire at the heart of this world alive. (And don't let anyone, ever, tell you there's only one way to be, one set of beliefs to hold. Belong to your own vision, not theirs.) We'll never know the impact of who we are, what we do. But if we're being it, doing it with our whole hearts, with everything that we are and might become, with all the beauty we can express then I believe that's enough. Because none of us can be everything. We can only be, and fully, who we were supposed to be, in this world, at this time. (Image: Andrew Ferez)

Right now there are Tibetan Buddhist monks in a temple in the Himalayas endlessly reciting mantras for the cessation of your suffering and for the flourishing o...f your happiness. Someone you haven't met yet is already dreaming of adoring you. Someone is writing a book that you will read in the next two years that will change how you look at life. Nuns in the Alps are in endless vigil, praying for the Holy Spirit to alight the hearts of all of God's children. A farmer is looking at his organic crops and whispering, "nourish them." Someone wants to kiss you, to hold you, to make tea for you. Someone is willing to lend you money, wants to know what your favorite food is, and treat you to a movie. Someone in your orbit has something immensely valuable to give you for free. Something is being invented this year that will change how your generation lives, communicates, heals and passes on. The next great song is being rehearsed. Thousands of people are in yoga classes right now intentionally sending light out from their heart chakras and wrapping it around the earth. Millions of children are assuming that everything is amazing and will always be that way. Someone is in profound pain, and a few months from now, they'll be thriving like never before. From where they are, they just can't see it. Someone who is craving to be partnered, to be acknowledged, to arrive, will get precisely what they want and even more. And because that gift will be so fantastical in its reach and sweetness, it will quite magically alter their memory of angsty longing and render it all "So worth the wait." Someone has recently cracked open their joyous, genuine nature because they did the hard work of hauling years of oppression off of their psyche this luminous juju is floating in the ether, and is accessible to you. Someone just this second wished for world peace, in earnest. Some civil servant is making sure that you get your mail, and your garbage is picked up, that the trains are running on time, and that you are generally safe. Someone is dedicating their days to protecting your civil liberties and clean drinking water. Someone is regaining their sanity. Someone is coming back from the dead. Someone is genuinely forgiving the seemingly unforgivable. Someone is curing the incurable. You. Me. Some. One. Now. ~ Danielle LaPorte via Mary Standing Otter Artwork by Painting Woodland

For a limited time, you can download a free PDF of Trauma Stewardship by Laura van Dernoot Lipsky. A longtime trauma worker, Lipsky offers a deep and empathetic... survey of the often-unrecognized toll taken on those working to make the world a better place. We may feel tired, cynical or numb, or like we can never do enough. These, and other symptoms, affect us individually and collectively, sapping the energy and effectiveness we so desperately need if we are to benefit humankind, other living things and the planet itself. In Trauma Stewardship, we are called to meet these challenges in an intentional way. Lipsky offers a variety of simple and profound practices, drawn from modern psychology and a range of spiritual traditions, that enable us to look carefully at our reactions and motivations and discover new sources of energy and renewal. She includes interviews with successful trauma stewards from different walks of life and even uses New Yorker cartoons to illustrate her points. I am delighted to announce that my new book Living with a Menstrual Teenager in Anxious Times: An empowering guide for mothers and caregivers is now available...! Many Mothers feel the need for a guide to understand the menstrual cycle of their teenage Daughters, and in that understanding to also recognise how their own cycle affects them and impacts on their Daughter. This process is not a science there is no instruction manual for you as a Cyclic Woman or for your Daughter, instead you need to view things in the light of caring and loving exploration and discovery. If you can understand how your Daughter is feeling then you can change your approach to be more empathic and more flexible, which will not only create more positive responses from her but also allow you to meet your needs as well as hers without confrontation. This book will help you to navigate the challenges and build a closer and more harmonious relationship and living environment: Understand your own cycle and your teenagers cycle better. Make things easier for both you and her. Know when and what to do, and what not to do. Create a flexible and adaptive cyclic relationship. Living with a Menstrual Teenager in Anxious Times is now available to order as paperback or kindle ebook from Amazon - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08B7LNQ78 Also available from amazon.com, amazon.es, amazon.fr, amazon.it, amazon.de, amazon.ca and amazon.jp

The body holds trauma and the imprints of this trauma until it is healed. And it cant be healed when trauma is still happening. Seeing the video of Ahmaud Arbe...ry being hunted or George Floyd pinned down with such disregard for his life as he breathed his last breath were heartbreaking to watch-but for those with these trauma stories in their bones & lineage felt the horror. We have to each one of us ask what we can do to heal, change, mend the past, move into a potential where skin color no longer invites violence and oppression. In my work with women in the pelvic bowl, Ive witnessed racialized trauma and done my best to bring medicine to this pain. Think of what your toolset is and bring it to the community to help the repair. I began offering scholarships to Black & Native American women in my practitioner trainings as a reparation and to elevate these women to be able to help all communities heal. Im extending this to healing sessions too. Its a tiny piece but if we each look at what we can offer it will make more medicine for the vast healing needed. #wildfeminine #wildfemininerising See more

Ancestral Apothecary School was born of a dream and a prayer to create herbal educational spaces centered on people of color. Herbal medicine has always been in...tegral to people's resilience in the struggle for liberation and this moment is no different. We believe in the power of plants and our ancestral medicine to help us heal individually and collectively from systemic racism and the impact it has had on Brown, Black and Indigenous people. . We all agreed that a way to contribute to the movement is to increase our class offerings for members of the Black community and to also increase scholarship opportunities so that our classes are financially accessible. . One of the ways you can support us in making this happen is to donate to our Black Scholarship Fund. Click on the link in our profile or visit: https://www.paypal.me/AncestralApothecary . Message from White Eagle, Hopi indigenous. This moment humanity is going through can now be seen as a portal and as a hole. The decision to fall into the hole ...or go through the portal is up to you. If you repent of the problem and consume the news 24 hours a day, with little energy, nervous all the time, with pessimism, you will fall into the hole. But if you take this opportunity to look at yourself, rethink life and death, take care of yourself and others, you will cross the portal. Take care of your homes, take care of your body. Connect with your spiritual House. When you are taking care of yourselves, you are taking care of everything else. Do not lose the spiritual dimension of this crisis; have the eagle aspect from above and see the whole; see more broadly. There is a social demand in this crisis, but there is also a spiritual demand -- the two go hand in hand. Without the social dimension, we fall into fanaticism. But without the spiritual dimension, we fall into pessimism and lack of meaning. You were prepared to go through this crisis. Take your toolbox and use all the tools available to you. Learn about resistance of the indigenous and African peoples; we have always been, and continue to be, exterminated. But we still haven't stopped singing, dancing, lighting a fire, and having fun. Don't feel guilty about being happy during this difficult time. You do not help at all being sad and without energy. You help if good things emanate from the Universe now. It is through joy that one resists. Also, when the storm passes, each of you will be very important in the reconstruction of this new world. You need to be well and strong. And for that, there is no other way than to maintain a beautiful, happy, and bright vibration. This has nothing to do with alienation. This is a resistance strategy. In shamanism, there is a rite of passage called the quest for vision. You spend a few days alone in the forest, without water, without food, without protection. When you cross this portal, you get a new vision of the world, because you have faced your fears, your difficulties. This is what is asked of you: Allow yourself to take advantage of this time to perform your vision-seeking rituals. What world do you want to build for you? For now, this is what you can do -- serenity in the storm. Calm down, pray every day. Establish a routine to meet the sacred every day. Good things emanate; what you emanate now is the most important thing. And sing, dance, resist through art, joy, faith, and love."

"For the next week (and beyond) the School of Shamanic Womancraft will be sharing photographs and the voices of Women of Colour in our community, in recognition... of their voice, their story, their teaching. We urge you to listen and learn. Too often these are the silent and silenced voices, and we say no more to that: no more silence, no more complacency, no more. ---- As a School of diverse women, we have a responsibility to ensure that all voices are heard and that our work does no harm. As we grow and evolve as an organisation, we are implementing policies and education that ensure we are creating spaces that are safe for everyone. No voice left out. No-one left behind. ---- The most important thing that happens in the SSW is to be heard, to know that the story you share in circle is heard and you are held. This is the magick of circle. ---- The sharings from these women are deep, vulnerable and sacred. We ask that you hold them as you would if we were in circle, hand in hand, heart to heart." See more

When the world listens to women, it listens to white women. For far too long, Black womens voices have gone unheard, even though theyve been using their voice...s loudly for centuries to enact change. Today, more than ever, it is NECESSARY that we create a unifying action to center Black womens lives, stories, and calls to action. We need to listen to Black women. This is why we created #ShareTheMicNow. Tomorrow, Black women will speak from the Instagram accounts of white women. The intention of this campaign is to magnify Black women and the important work that theyre doing in order to catalyze the change that will only come when we truly hear each others voices. See more

Your track record for survival is 100 percent, and thats amazing. Surely, you can start to realise how strong and brave you are. Take that seed and bring it... into a circle of women, nurture it with wisdom, give it energy, prune what needs pruning, let the tap root go down into the energy field of Mother Earth, to draw from and contribute thought and action to the morphic field and then take it out into the world to bloom and bear fruit. credit: Tom Ezzatkhah See more
