Out at the Memory Garden Community Garden recently shooting a video for the United Way, which is one of the Williams Lake Food Policy Council’s key funders. Without them and the support of those who donate to United Way, the Memory Garden and other Food Policy Projects and initiatives might not happen! Food insecurity and scarcity are issues faced by too many, not just in our community, but across the world. With COVID-19, especially, it is crucial food security is at the for...efront of people’s minds. In addition, community gardens not only help address food security and provide nutritious, local food, but they provide a peaceful and joyful outdoor setting that increases mental wellbeing. Earlier this year, the B.C. Government declared community gardens as essential services. Please help the United Way help organizations like ours provide these services to communities. Thank you!
