Cold weather is just around the corner. As knitters and crocheters we’re often at the ready with warm, handmade accessories to get through the season. Unfortunately, many people here in Winnipeg don’t have warm hats and mittens and we’re putting a call out for some crafty help. Let’s warm up Winnipeg with lots of hats and mittens! . Throughout the winter we will be collecting handmade mittens and hats for two groups in our city that help people out - West Central Women’s Resource Centre and Sunshine House. These organizations do so much and are looking for warm things to hand out to people who need them. You can drop them off here, at Wolseley Wool and we’ll make sure they get to where they need to go to help make this winter a little warmer. Share this with your crafty friends and family, lots of hats and mittens are needed!

They’re a group out of the North Point Douglas Women’s Centre that focuses on a shared responsibility for community safety with matriarchal leadership. They do regular patrols in the community to promote safety and violence reduction. . Inspi...red by rich autumnal prairie colours, this fingering weight yarn is great for all kinds of lightweight projects. Splashed with royal blues and purples, rich reds and oranges and autumnal yellows, this yarn reminded us of the brilliant colours seen in prairie grasses in the late fall. It is a superwash blend that is suitable for socks, but it’s also great for shawls, sweaters, hats and more!
