The Prince Edward Island Harness Racing Industry Association and the Maritime Breeders Association would like to remind participants of the changes in condition...s to the Island Breeders Series Stake and Maritime Breeders Stake commencing in 2021. A summary of these changes are below and they can also be viewed on the Standardbred Canada Online Staking Guide. 1) Changes to conditions for the Maritime Breeders Stake are as follows: a)Commencing in 2021, the Maritime Breeders Association has changed the format of its Trot Divisions to be split by sex provided there are a minimum of three fillies and three colts in each age group. The stakes administrator reserves the right to adjust the purse so that the greater portion of the overall purse for that age division will go to the sex group from that division with more entries. The Starting Fees for the Trot Division in 2021 have also increased from $100 to $200. b) Yearling Nominations in 2021 will also increase from $50 to $75. 2) Changes to the conditions for the Island Breeders Series Stake are as follows: a) Grassroot and Gold format. Removal of Final. To be raced as two events at both the CDP and SRW. b) Addition of thresholds to both Gold and Grassroots events for lifetime earnings earned before and after August 15th , 2021. c) Changes to purse structure and purse pay-outs of both Gold and Grassroots events. d) Trotters to be split by sex in each age group when a minimum of three fillies and three colts exist. e) Changes to starting fees in the Gold, Grassroots, and Trotting divisions. f) Increases to yearling nominations and both two- and three-year-old supplemental nomination fees. On Friday Dec 4th, on behalf of Rollwithitharry Racing, we were honored to have some very special visitors to Woodmere. Jillian Kilfoil, Gloria Dennis, and Mich...elle Jay representing Justice Options for Women who operate the Circles of Safety Program here on PEI took time out of their busy schedule to drop by and talk about the Circles Program. They had the ears of a couple of caring people in Minister Natalie Jamieson, the Minister Responsible for Status of Women and the Minister of Justice and good friend, Bloyce Thompson. Thanks to everyone that supported Rollwithitharry Racing. Hopefully together we can continue to promote Harness Racing while raising awareness and some funding to great community programs such as Circles of Safety and Harness the Hope.
