Teachers will be reaching out to parents if they would like to discuss some aspect of your child’s learning. If you have a concern, you may reach out to your child’s teacher to organize an interview. More information will be coming shortly on booking the interviews.

Good Evening Parents, Guardians, and Students, I hope everyone continues to be well. We know that many families have concerns related to keeping their children safe and at the same time ensuring that their education is well taken care of. With regard to the safety piece, the District and the school will have protocols in place to lower the risk of virus transmission. We will share the protocols with you and we will work with students and teachers to ensure that the protoco...ls are learned and followed. Some of these can be found on the District website (link below). With regard to learning, the District has provided the option of a Virtual School (with teachers and staff assigned to that school) or the in-person quadmester model where students would attend Woodroffe High School every second day in significantly reduced class sizes. Please go to the district website here to get detailed information and updates. Over the next week our school will be rescheduled in order to match enrollment and staffing changes resulting from establishment of the Virtual School. We hope to maintain as many of the elective course selections made by students as is possible. However, there will be some inevitable changes. Connected to this, is the fact that until the rescheduling is complete, we cannot communicate to you student cohorts and timetables. Later this week, we will be sending out the basic daily timetable and the cohorting schedule for the school. There will be schedules and cohorts that apply to the general school and there will be those that apply to special program areas. We will make this clear in our communication. Please note that the first day of school has been moved to September 8th and that there will be a staggered entry (different grades and cohorts starting on different days). More details will be coming. Finally, I would like to point out that the Black Foundation of Community Networks is hosting a "Back to School Workshop for Black Parents". Details here: backtoschool.jpg We look forward to bringing students back into the school and working to the best of our abilities to ensure their success. Best regards, Steve Jackson, Principal of Woodroffe High School
