Being part of community, whatever community looks like to you (family, friends, those with common interests, geographical location, faith, etc), is important. Especially during COVID times when we feel disconnected. Find ways to engage with others that brings you joy, know that you are important to many different community groups, and consider how you can invite someone else into community and help them feel a sense of belonging too! How? One way could be by checking out a new program called Belonging Brant They are helping to connect people around their passions and cultivate relationships. They are helping to build communities where all belong!

#realtalk Illnesses we can see, seem to be easier to understand, accept and support, but why? In general people find it harder to understand the things they cannot see, touch, or quantify but...does that make it any less important or true? ... NO If we wouldn't respond to physical illnesses as shown in this illustration then why would we ever treat those with mental health illnesses that way? Take time to reflect on how you view mental health, how you view physical illnesses and how you treat others. Is there room for growth?
