As our day draws to a close we want to thank everyone for coming out today and donating their pumpkins. We have a mountains worth and the animals are very happy. Wondering what to do with those Halloween Pumpkins ? The animals at the Warren Peace Bunny Sanctuary in Oyama would be thrilled to eat them up for you. All of our animals love pumpkin, from the bunnies to the goats, pigs and up to our 2 steers.... We will have a drop off spot set up at the foot of our driveway on Sunday, Nov 1st. There will be volunteers to help carry pumlkins from 11am-3pm. Please make sure to remove any candles or anything that could harm the animals. No painted pumpkins or moldy pumpkins please. It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single rabbit in possession of a free evening, must be in want of a helicopter. At least if that rabbit has the initials AM. The good Admiral was caught no less than seventeen times sneaking into various airports, military bases, naval installations, police stations and hospitals. On ten of these occasions, he was caught with the keys in his mouth; on four of these occasions, he was found actually inside of a cockpit; and twice he was caught in midair and was forced to land by the military. No one knows where he is trying to fly. Perhaps he is just craves a high up joy-ride. Perhaps he has his heart set on a destination beyond the mountains or above the clouds. Regardless, he has been forcibly relocated to the WPBS, at least a day’s hop from the nearest helipad. Perhaps his new environment will settle his wandering heart. Only time will tell. I started off as a house pet, but my owners got tired of me, and they dumped me in a condo complex. I was sad, as I felt I was still so close to home, I but I wasn’t allowed to be part of it. Here I was, sitting in the sun and rain without any survival skills. A black bunny named Sooty became my friend and protector . Well, I am a rather shy girl. I lived on the streets my whole life and was constantly targeted by other pr...edators because of my shyness. I am surprised I've survived this long, but I have the scars on me to show it . One rainy night, while I was sitting at the side of the road, I saw a couple of kind women across the street rescuing a few of my colleagues. I felt down and out and I wasn’t sure what to do. I figured I had nothing more to lose, and therefore, I made myself seen by these women, hoping it was my lucky night, and I too would be rescued. Then I was spotted!!!! Me, the shy girl. I decided to make it easy for them to catch me, and they did! I can’t tell you how happy this made me. Here I was, a beaten up Bunny hoping for a better life. I was taken to my temporary shelter ,where for the first time I felt safe. Besides regular good food, a dry cozy and warm place, I really love to binki and cuddle . I have come a long way. Now, I only have one wish. From the bottom of my tiny bunny heart, I hope to find a special person that is willing and happy to sponsor me so I can get spayed. On this day of thanks I am thankful for connection. The connection I have made between animals and myself which led me down the path to our sanctuary.
