We want to build up that m...eaning to include 'when you're struggling, seek help.' 2020 really put a damper on rodeo in Canada. It was a really tough year. So we want to check in. The CPRA cares about the overall health of our athletes, members and fans - which includes their mental health. In 2021 and beyond, we need to have more conversations with each other to break the stigma around suicide and other mental illness. We applaud the efforts being made in this area with our Canadian Pro Rodeo Sport Medicine Team (CPRSMT), and the Ty Pozzobon Foundation (https://www.typozzobon.com/) along with the great conversations happening around mental health with Brett Gardiner and others. We would like to send our deepest condolences to the McDonald family. Robbie was one of the founding members of the Wildrose Rodeo Association. He was also our very first president. Robbie has played a great role in the development of rodeo and Alberta.... He will be dearly missed.
