The news has been out today, but I confirmed with those I know and trust. Details not relevant save that she passed at 12:32 pm. She didn't suffer. Susan Wirt...h was a character, and I had the pleasure to know her some 18 years. She set the tone early in my hobby career for pen show play, inviting me (and other newbies) during my first couple shows to join the established crew for dinner and chat during downtime. I've tried to pay that forward. She personified the notion of "get thee to a pen show". She was a fixture on the pen show circuit. She imbued a love for pens and writing no doubt in thousands of people. She was fine a day or so back. She was nearly a neighbor a couple towns over from my work town, and joined us on occasion for our Janesville pen club. I'd figured we'd have a couple more decades to share pen play. Guess not.
