Congratulations to Dan and Lori Costello, owners of Bella Hill Maple Syrup in Powassan, on winning The John David Eaton World Championship Cup for their syrup at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto. We are proud to have such amazing local talent as clients, and excited to see them recognized as world champions. (Though we always knew their syrup was world-class!)

Business cards were first used in 17th century Europe to announce the impending arrival of prosperous or aristocratic people. By the 19th century the cards were a must have by anyone, who was anyone in the middle class circles of the day. Houses even had card trays, ornate in construction, made so those visiting your house could leave their card in. When was the last time you thought about redecorating your business' building or even your home office? If you're thinking it's time for a change, take the time to consider the colour of your workspace. The colours in a room can affect your mood, performance, and even your perception of how warm or cool it is. Read this article from Forbes to find out which colour speaks to you!

The girls at x-height Graphics choose 2:00pm hot chocolate as our mid-day motivation secret. What’s yours? -- You can also try these tips to reenergize and refocus to stay productive to make it through your work day.... 1. If you spend most of your work day sitting in front of the computer use the 20/20/20 rule to prevent eye strain and to get you out of your seat. Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Combine this with standing up and moving around and you’ll find yourself feeling less tired and more focused throughout the day. 2. Stay hydrated! While we do love our hot chocolate, I always keep a bottle of water on hand. Water is healthy for you and (especially on hot summer days) will keep you feeling hydrated and fresh. 3. Tell a joke or two! Work can’t be all fun and games, but it doesn’t hurt to have a little laugh now and then. Here’s one to get you started: Why did Adele cross the road? To say Hello from the other side!
