Meet Your Board Monday! Carley Henniger - Member At Large. Carley resides in Kamloops, BC, where she works as the Environmental Stewardship Coordinator for the BC Cattlemen’s Association. Carley was a 2017 Cattlemen’s Young Leader, mentored by Canadian Cattlemen's Association President, Bob Lowe. YCC is excited to have Carley on board, sharing her passion and insights on all things beef.
As part of Waste Reduction Week, today is #FoodWasteFriday. One of the most interesting stories I get to tell about the cattle industry, through my work at Cana...dian Cattlemen's Association, is the amazing ability of cattle to utilize items that would otherwise end up in landfills. This includes crops damaged by weather, crop residues, byproducts of brewing and distilling and even cull vegetables. Below is a video we shot last December in southern Alberta that describes how french fries that don't meet retail standards can be fed to cattle - essentially transforming fries into beef ;) See more
