Saltwater Pool Owners: Tired of constantly adding pH decreaser or Acid to your pool? This eloquent solution is part of a 'Sense & Dispense' add-on for the Hayward Prologic and OMNILogic systems. In conjunction with a Chlorine and pH sensing system, this tank with a peristaltic pump will dispense acid into your pool as the pH goes up and needs balancing. Think of it like a thermostat for your pH. You simply set your desired pH and it will dispense the acid to achieve it.

Some of you might be wondering how a salt water pool works: When we administer an electrical current to salted water, chlorine gas (and hydrogen) is produced. In a salt water pool this gas is carried by the water flow into the pool and can provide an endless supply of homemade chlorine.

Despite the cold snowy weather, York Pool Services is preparing for the upcoming spring of 2019 with this message from me, the president: Based on many of York Pools new customer's anecdotes, there seems to be a large gap in the local market in terms of service quality among pool service and maintenance providers. I started York Pool Services to fill that particular need. Many small-to-medium sized residential pool service providers often find themselves overwhelmed by large... influxes of business and phone calls during the pool season. This often causes them to stonewall smaller-profit clients and projects in favour of larger ones. Many experienced pool service companies are adept at the technical part of pool service but inexperienced and disorganized in managing large volumes of calls and business without compromising call-back response time and overall customer service. I am writing on Facebook today to emphasize and renew this customer service pledge to you for 2019 and all future pool seasons. We will always be in the business of maintaining our customer's precious summertime through quality, reliable swimming pool service. Looking forward to seeing you again in 2019! Until then stay safe and warm, Mark Leaman York Pool Services, Inc. (905) 597-SWIM

Dear Valued Customers, As we have just finalized the 2018 closing season on Oct 31st, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing us yet another year to earn your trust and business. In our part of the world, a successful pool maintenance business model must be about maximizing our short and beloved summer season. We know that for many of you, your backyard serves as a summer meeting place for family and friends to cool down in the pool, relax and make memories.... We understand that the best way to serve that purpose is for us to stay organized, educated and reliable. These values ought to ring true for any service business in which solid, long-term customer relationships are to be forged. We intend to continue working inside of this philosophy, never taking for granted the value of your continued patronage and trust. I wish you a safe and warm winter and look forward to serving you again in the spring of 2019. Best Wishes, Mark Leaman York Pool Services, Inc. (905)597-SWIM

Good evening to our loyal customers! Many clients have already begun to reach out and claim pool closing dates. We have always honoured a 'first come, first serve' basis so if you have a closing date already in mind I'd like to suggest that you let us know so we can book it and hold it for you. Caution: Some of you may choose to roll the dice and see how the weather pans out in September before making your decision. I have to caution you that this may result in us not having ...availability for you by the time you call us for closing. We will always do our best to try and accommodate your wishes but we ask that you try to make firm commitments to closing dates. Energy-Conscious Pool Owners: If you are energy-conscious and wish to save water, chemicals, service call fees, gas and electricity, we advise a closing as early as practical. Remember that salt water pools must have the pump running at least some of the time in order for the salt system to keep making chlorine. Furthermore the heater must be set to a minimum of 72F in order for the salt system to function properly. This could be costly as the nights tend to cool down in the fall and the heater will have to engage more often to maintain the pool temperature. More heater engagement means more gas consumption. For the Do-It-Yourself-er: If you are a DIYer, please ensure that your pool is vacuumed and balanced before we arrive to winterize the pool. A balanced pool will have a better chance of opening with clearer water in the spring of 2019. Try to adjust pH to 7.4, Alkalinity to 100ppm, Stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid) to a minimum of 30ppm and ensure that there are no phosphates in the pool water. If you have any questions please message, call or e-mail. We hope you enjoy the second half of your summer and that you were able to use your pool in good health and safety thus far. Best Regards, Mark Leaman President York Pool Services Inc. (905) 597- SWIM (7946)

Poor Pool Chemistry = Equipment damage Many pool owners find themselves replacing pool equipment and liners prematurely. There are many factors that can lead to their premature failure. However, an often-understated factor is poor pool chemistry. If you are a veteran pool owner and youve lost a pool heater within 5 years or your liner print has ever faded prematurely then youd likely have learned a hard lesson about the importance of keeping your pool chemistry intact. Many... salt water pool owners often forget that their pools are still sanitized by chlorine. In a salt water pool, chlorine is manufactured chemically within the pools system as opposed to added manually as liquid, pucks, powder or pellets. These salt water systems can be cranked up too high in which case the chlorine output can often produce off-the-chart levels. Chlorine is bleach and is highly corrosive in large quantity. So faded and deteriorated liners and/or heater/pump failure is not unlikely. Furthermore, a fundamental by-product of making chlorine from salt water is an ever-increasing pH level in the water. This means that the pH of Salt water pools is perpetually rising all summer long. If no one regularly adds a decreasing agent to the water, then equipment can quite easily become damaged as well. These two conditions (Over-Chlorination and Very High pH) dont typically manifest themselves visually because in both cases the water can look crystal clear and healthy. Many pool owners mistaken their pools clear water to mean that their chemistry is intact. This is a very common mistake and can lead to very expensive systems quickly failing. So to all our clients: Balanced pool chemistry is just as important to the bathers health as it is to the health of your pool and its equipment. If you have any questions about pool chemistry or about your pool in general we are always happy to hear from you and help. Best Regards, Mark Leaman York Pool Services Inc. (905) 597-SWIM
