Removed the mirror in this front entry space tonight. 6.5 years of walking by, the place where it held a plate of keys, mail, water bottles, flowers, kid's school forms to be filled. I got to love my home over time. It took 6 years for me to create the spaces, fell in love with it and then end up selling and moving. Funny how that happens. Sad, but funny. All so bittersweet. I know Winnipeg will be great for my family. But dang, it feels crushing to leave an amazing place where you as well as your family flourished. Alberta, you are vibrant. I loved my life here. Winnipeg, I know there are bright things ahead. Slowly but surely, I'm sure my family and I will experience as much joy in our new chapter. Christmas is coming and I'm seeing that more people are starting to put up Christmas decorations. That's understandable, as many of us want to celebrate bits of joy during this pandemic. But let's not forget our veterans and our troops that have and continue to sacrifice their lives for us to this day. It's easy to forget. And it reminds me that it's a topic I need to teach my kids as part of homeschooling. Poppies are available at many retail stores, groceries and at the legion. LOCAL LOVE: I Okotoks. Okotoks is an incredible place to live in. It's a small town of under 30,000, 20 mins to the city limits of Calgary. The Sheep River runs through it where kids go tubing and play in. Mountain views and farmer's fields surround the town. I love how local businesses support each other. One of my favorite restaurants is @chachajohnsokotoks for fusion Indian food. Ordered our last order from owner Thomas before we move.
