The YWCA Saskatoon and its facilities such as the Child Development Centre, Employment and Learning Centre, and the Admin Offices will be closed after 12pm on December 24th and reopen December 28th. Fitness on 25th will close at 4pm on December 24th and reopen 8am-6pm on December 27th. Pool will remain closed until December 28th. Happy holidays and stay safe!

After reading the inspiring story of Riti and her Power Bundles, the staff members from Nutrien wanted to do their part and help give back to those in need. Nutrien graciously donated gift cards to be utilized for our Crisis Shelter and Residence. With the gift cards, we will be able to provide shampoo, conditioner, lotion, deodorant, baby items, tooth brushes, toothpaste, etc. to our residents. Thank you, Nutrien! Inspired by the work of our future leaders... Thank you to the Agros, students enrolled in the College of Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan, who presented the YWCA Saskatoon with a $2500 donation to our Crisis Shelter and Residence. We are extremely thankful for the Agros’ kind donation! It is admirable to witness our future leaders give back and make a difference within the community.

We have loved and utilized SPARK Creations & Bookings for our annual Women of Distinction Awards. This year, our event was jeopardized due to social distancing requirements that arose from Covid-19. SPARK Creations & Bookings knew that the show MUST go on! They were able to provide innovative solutions and helped shift our in-person event onto a virtual platform. We would not have been able to confidently host our virtual event without SPARK's incredible support and expertise. Thank you for going the extra mile for us, and every other organization in the community. We are extremely grateful!

After years of hard work and dedication, Shaylyn White has officially received her Master of Arts degree after completing the Women’s, Gender, and Sexualities Studies (WGST) program! Alongside her studies, Shaylyn plays an active role within the community. She works as an instructor at our YWCA Employment and Learning Centre where she assists locals with obtaining employment through various workshops. She has also served as a research assistant at RESOLVE Saskatchewan. We are incredibly proud of Shaylyn and her accomplishments. She is destined for great things that will have an incredible impact on women within our community.
