Photo 1: Winter Nap Photo 2: Resting I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to observe these majestic creatures. We watched seven of these caribou feed and rest for a while. While seemingly comfortable with humans and vehicles, the animals were alert to our movements. ... The Kennedy Siding caribou herd spends the early winter near Mackenzie, B.C. in a protected area designed to help the herd increase its numbers. #caribou

Fall at Ruby Lake
Dancing Sky. Northern lights above central British Columbia, September 29, 2020, 10:40 pm. Taken approximately 30 km north of Prince George, BC.
A few people have asked about 2021 calendars. I’m happy to say I will have them available, but sad to say it won’t be for a few more weeks. This year I will be basing the number of calendars I order off of pre-sales and only stocking a very limited number above that. The price will stay at $20 per calendar. Keep an eye here for more details after Thanksgiving!
I am having a moving sale! This is your opportunity to score framed and canvas prints at an affordable price! Check out my online store: https://www.zdallasphotography.ca/shop There is only one of each print available!
I lucked out with one clear night last weekend to capture NEOWISE at my parent's place in Harrison Mills, BC.
Spahats Creek Falls, Wells Gray Provincial Park, BC.
Trophy Mountain alpine meadow, about 2100 metres elevation, June 19, 2020. Wells Gray Provincial Park. It was a good thing we brought snowshoes with us. Despite there being no signs of snow at the trailhead (at 1600 metres elevation) we ran into deep, wet snow with pools and rivers of water beneath in places. We made it about four kilometres up the mountainside trail before finding this breathtaking view (or maybe it was because we were out of breath from the trip up!) Either way, it was an incredible view well worth the effort, blisters, and sunburns to get there.
I spent the weekend exploring part of Wells Gray Provincial Park, and I would be mistaken if Helmcken Falls wasn't my first post after the trip. Helmcken Falls is a 141-metre waterfall on the Murtle River. It is one of the most iconic locations in the park, and I would argue one of British Columbia's icons. This is a 5-second exposure. I love how the mist looks like a cloud rising out of the bowl carved into the rock.
Teapot Mountain (north of Prince George) never disappoints for a spectacular view after a grind to get to the top. Not shown are the thousands of hungry mosquitos.
Nothingness Yesterday Prince George woke up to a blanket of thick fog over the city. That, coupled with high river levels gave a very foreboding look to Cottonwood Island Park. This patch of plants caught my eye half-submerged and contrasted against the grey fog. Alternate image title: when you haven’t cleaned your lens in a while and decide to shoot a solid grey image so you are forced to spend an hour in Lightroom cloning out dust spots.

It only took 1715 days of living in Prince George for me to add a moose to my photography portfolio.
A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to be one of two local Prince George photographers sharing a few images to be incorporated on the new supportpg.ca website. Support PG is an online hub where community members and small businesses can access resources and help one another through these challenging times. And to see some local good news, too. One of the things I love about Prince George is how the community frequently comes together to support different causes of all sizes. Despite being a city of nearly 80,000 people, it still has a bit of that small town neighbourly feel. I'm excited to see how this project brings us all a little bit closer together, virtually! You can see a few of my images already throughout the website, and likely more coming soon. #SupportPG #CityofPG
