And when your child also has serious enough behavioural issues they cant go because they need 1:1 hands on, or get triggered, we truly understand how hard that actually is. We are working with WCB on rebooting parameters for our in- home supports. In order to keep kids and workers safe, it may look different than before. Thank you for your patience!! https://www.timescolonist.com//struggling-to-help-special-
Respecting parents wishes and protecting vulnerable kids is exactly why we're still shut. But, we're working on things while we wait and are rebuilding case by case. Keeping workers safe and not spreading COVID between homes is important! We are working with WCB to learn how. Hang in there!! https://www.thestar.com//this-single-mother-whose-four-chi

Hang in there, parents!!
While special needs parents have dealt with isolation for some time, its especially difficult right now. We're working on some solutions, meanwhile, please take care! https://www.psychologytoday.com//10-ideas-coping-lonelines
Because we need a laugh right now.
A great way to reinforce hand washing!
We will resume services as soon as possible, but will not vector this disease right into peoples homes by pollinating it from home to home via workers. Limit what you bring into your own home, by staying there or not touching people or public surfaces! https://amp.cnn.com//coronavirus-kids-social-di/index.html
A great social story aid right now...
We have already advised all of our company's staff to avoid working with clients in these places. As Washington, Alaska and Alberta have all suspended school past end of spring break ( in some cases closed daycares), we are monitoring the situation closely. This week is is THE week critical to "flattening the curve", and working with clients in home will be done on case by case basis. We understand the extra challenges for special needs parents, and will support as long as possible, we just don't want to become a vector for this virus. Stay tuned!
We have circulated our policy to parents and staff, and it was very similar to this. Stay healthy, folks! https://www.todaysparent.com//safe-social-distancing-with/
We tailor to your child's needs as you as the Parent request :)
At AABB we defer to parents, so #youknowyourchildbest isnt just lip service.
An amazing support and advocacy resource for special needs parents working with the public school system. Here's where you can report when service is not available/accessible. Every instance counts!
Let us know if we can help :)
