Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER: Uncovering Skills for Stress Resilience The conversation around screens and teens is being taken to the next level by filmmaker and physician Dr. Delaney Ruston. SD73 parents and families will have an opportunity to watch his new movie, on-demand, between Nov. 26 and Dec. 13, 2020. The film explores the science behind the emotional challenges teenagers face, the interplay of social media, and how families and schools can help them build crucial skills to navigate stress, anxiety, and depression in our digital age. British Columbia has a redesigned curriculum, which means that we are also redesigning how we assess and report on student progress. The goal of communicating student progress is to ensure that families are well informed about their children’s progress. This year all elementary schools in School District #73 are participating in the Ministry of Education’s K-9 Student Reporting Pilot. We have joined with Willow Creek Organic Grain Co. to do a fundraiser for the PAC. Top priority for the PAC at this time is getting enough funds raised so that we can up the class allotments back to where they should be. We feel like this is a great partnership where we can get healthy snacks for the kids and for ourselves while building up funds for the school. Willow Creek is all about providing good wholesome nutritional & organic food products that are NUT free and GLUTEN... free. They have been selling these great products for over 14 years across Canada. A few of us were fortunate to get to try some samples and they not only are items you will feel good about giving your children but they taste great. We will have the order form on munchalunch open until Nov 13th. Orders will arrive within 2 weeks time and we will have them delivered to your child’s classroom.
