Here’s what Sarah has to say about our Online Foundations Of Movement Program.... It has been nine months since I began my fitness training online with Agatsu, and how I move has changed my life. I have been a martial artist for twenty years. Despite this, I was only moderately flexible and had hip, shoulder and spinal stiffness. I thought flexibility was an attribute for other people. It turns out, I was wrong. Through Agatsu, I have learned to back bend, opening up my t-spine, shoulders and hip flexors. I have developed the ability to pistol squat, control a proper handstand and do my first muscle up. By working towards these skills I have gained immense mobility, strength and endurance. Some of the most remarkable experiences I have had include returning to a skill I struggled with, and discovering how much easier it is six weeks down the road, examples include muscle-ups, dragon flags and levers, to name a few. I do not train with Agatsu just to learn wicked new skills, although those are pretty awesome. I train to move better and develop a healthy, injury resistant body. One of the most noticeable changes I found, (and my training partners found too), was in the power of my kicks. After a few months of daily hip mobility practice, my kicks became immensely more powerful, fluid and effortless. The Agatsu Foundations of Movement program gives you the blue print to elevate your training. Here’s one of my favourite exercises from Greg Woods from Agatsu NC The KB Arm Bar Press . We had a discussion the other day how one exercise can mean flexibili...ty for one person & be a stability exercise for another. . He was saying how he loves the deep stretch he gets into with this exercise. I told him I feel nothing stretching but that’s it’s hella hard for me to control & forces me to work on my shoulder strength. . When looking at exercises, especially online, don’t just pick at random. . Pick the things that fill a void in your training. Pick things that fill in your weaker links. . #Repost @agatsufitness Beginners often rush to the internet for quick clues from experts on the best way to improve in their chosen field of study. . Of course you should seek out the guidance of an expert to improve and guide your training however you shouldn’t necessarily copy them.... . Many amazing experts defy their sports. They excel as a result of a miraculous cocktail of attributes and intangibles. To try and copy someone like this would rob you of the same foundation that many of them needed to develop their foundations which they later were able to modify. . Take the great boxer Mohamed Ali for example. Let’s imagine you decide to become a great boxer. You lock yourself in your room for a weekend watching all of the Ali footage you can find on the internet. You practice his moves. You copy his low hands, stance and even how he leans in taunting his opponent daring him to take a swing at his face. After a few days of rigorous mimicking you hit a local boxing gym and try out your new skills. After you wake up in the hospital you realize that you have just learned an important lesson. Don’t jump to copy what an expert can do, learn the basics they they learned which made them into an expert. See more

Are you making this mistake? . One of the most common mistakes we see people make at our Kettlebell Instructor Courses is incorrect foot placement during the Turkish Get Up. . Placing your foot down as in the top photo creates instability and a weak platform for driving off the back leg.... . Get in a lunge. Drop down letting your knee touch the ground as though you are performing a TGU. Place your foot as in bottom photo. Push forward slightly from your back foot and push back slightly from your front foot. Do you feel the connection and stability in your hip? Now try it the other way.
