We decided to try for Tuna today, headed out 40 miles offshore, but very few tuna to be found! We're about 6 boats out there, a few were caught. But not many. We stopped for Halibut on the way in and got our limit of chickens and a 30lber, so a good consolation prize!

Air Nootka got to take part in rescuing this sweet little otter last Friday. Had a phone call today from Marine Rescue say that he is getting stronger everyday. Yay for Joey!

We took our first group of fishermen out to Nootka Island Lodge today....looks like a nice catch has begun! #fishingnootka, #westcoast, #nootkaislandlodge, #airnootka, #summerfun

Summer mail flight schedule: Mondays depart Gold River 2:30 pm. Arrive in Kyuquot 3:15 pm. Arrive back to Gold River 4:30 pm.... Wednesday and Friday remain the same: Depart Gold River 12:30 pm. Arrive in Kyuquot at 1:15 pm. Arrive back to Gold River at 2:30 pm.

Fishing is heating up in the Esperanza area. Halibut fishing has been excellent without going too far off shore, and the bigger Chinook are showing up in sound.... There have been Chinook to 25lbs at Inner Black Rock and Low Rock in the last week. We are open for the season, for Bring your own boat or guided fishing. Chinook AND Coho are open in area 25, two of each species per day, wild or hatchery! Contact us to book your spot! See more

Good morning from Air Nootka and Nootka Island Lodge!

Hello friends and frequent fliers. We hope you are all well and safe! A little update here for you all. We are fully operational with some safety protocol in place. All passengers and the pilot must wear protective facial masks during the flight. The aircraft is sanitized before and after each flight , including headsets, seatbelts, door handles, and all surfaces. Our office is sanitized many times per day. One passenger is allowed inside at a time for check in. We also ...have a large plexiglass screen in place at the check in desk. Please feel free to phone in with any questions you may have. We are up at the Lodge right now getting it ready for the upcoming season. We have a soft opening right now so have some rooms ready for bring your own boat and... own food guests before our opening mid June for guided fishing and regular BYOB packages. Esperanza Inlet is OPEN for retention of Chinook salmon and will be for coho June 1. Halibut fishing has been good lately, we have had lots of feeder Chinook in the inlet, and some bigger ones outside. Give is a call to reserve fully guided fishing packages, or bring t=your own boat packages. With the border uncertainty we are not collecting deposits from American guests at this time, so there is no risk in reserving. See more

Omg! That was incredibly fun! Scott is an amazing pilot! Today we flew on a Cessna185...a total of 4 seats. Small and oh so fun! This was our landing in the river in between the trees!

Full load of freight today for Kyuquot and Zeballos! We had to remove the rear passenger seat to fit it all in.
