Looking north east towards Northlea Elementary & Middle School, 1950: "This is an aerial view of housing development in Leaside. Most of puzzled residents who s...ought information at municipal office, and came away with very little, said crux of the matter will occur when the tax bills come in. They expressed amazement that assessors who came into Leaside did not use the figures already in the Leaside office relating to house and land sizes. The residents were irate over the rise." - Courtesy of Toronto Public Library & the Toronto Star Archives. See more

Who remembers Pete's Sunny Bar at the southeast corner of Annette Street and Clendenan Ave? The shop was very popular with the students from Annette St. Public ...School, High Park Alternative, and Humberside C.I. Its original owner was Pete Turchyn, who died on Oct. 6th 2005 at the age of 85. The shop closed sometime around 2011. Thanks Patrick Cummins for the exterior photos.
