The rink is open. It's not perfect yet but skateable. The field house is not open as we dont have our city rink attendant yet. Enjoy.

I've attached this season's Hawks outdoor practice schedule. In the past the tykes and novice age kids really took advantage of their icetimes while the atoms peewee and bantam used their ice slot less frequently.

Rink is getting there. Took the zamboni out tonight. Shaved all the bumps down and added a few coats of water. Should be pretty smooth now. The city rink attendants start this weekend so the shack will be open more frequently. When I know the hours I'll post them.

With all the help we've been getting, the rink will be ready in no time.

Big shout out to all the people who helped us today to get the rink back up and running at 100%. Our snowblower broke down, people came with two of their own units, dozens of people shovelled, and in the end, loads of kids got to get back to playing hockey and skating. Great work Algonquin neighbours!

With the zamboni out of commission for the next little while the rink is need of a good hard scrape and a traditional hose flood. Rink will be shut down at 8pm tonight for maintenance. Thanks.

It's a bit of a sad day, our volunteers are once again left to clean up after a bunch of messy inconsiderate teenagers. From bathrooms completely turned upside down, to storage rooms broken into and rummaged through, inability to use garbage cans, this is a regular occurrence. That's not to mention the inability for any of these kids to shovel or help maintain the ice surface. With alm this taken into account the outdoor rink lights will now shut off at 830pm every night, and the shack will always be closed unless a volunteer or city attendant is present. Sorry to the good kids that are affected.

With the rink in great shape we are able to start holding the SPHL Algonquin Hawks outdoor practices again. Tonight, December 11, the novice team will hit the ice from 615 to 715. The atom team will be holding a practice Thursday evening from 7-8pm. We will set and post a regular schedule shortly, however you can assume the the rink to be unavailable Tues wed, Thursdays, from 6 to 830pm. Thanks.

Hey everyone. The the rink is officially open now. The city supplies us with rink attendants which will allow us to keep the shack open a minimum of 30hrs a week. Enjoy.

We started flooding the rink last night. We'll keep at it as the weather permits. Our goal is have it ready for Christmas break.
