Anyone driving the newly paved Mabel Lake Road should appreciate a look back at what the road used to look like... Marion Dale donated a photo of a four-horse g...rader on Mabel Lake Road in 1920. Yep, that is a grader. She also gave us one of a horse team on Mabel Lake Road near Prevost rock during the same era. (edms photos 1232 & 1234) See more

In 1958 McTavish Road Elementary students made a tapestry showing the approximate locations of European settlers on the Saanich Peninsula c.1858-74, and here it's on display at a BC School Trustees convention. Today, this very same tapestry hangs in our museum! #SidneyMuseum #TBT
