Praise God for Canadian Baptist Ministries’ Active in Mission program which raised $32,000 this summer, far exceeding the goal needed to build 20 compostable latrines in El Salvador in 2020. This CBM article sheds light on how compostable latrines benefit whole communities in rural areas: https://www.cbmin.org/the-latrines-that-love-built/

Good news Canadian Baptist family! Former Executive Director Terry Smith is sticking around! We’re so glad that he accepted the role of Director, Strategic Init...iatives. In his new role, he will be working with major donors and foundations, leading our recruitment strategy, providing strategic direction to CBM’s Faith + Work initiatives, helping to expand our donor base beyond our core constituency and writing on theological and missiological themes. Incumbent Executive Director Jennifer Lau says, I’m excited that Terry will be providing leadership in these areas, which will enable his gifts and experience to be well utilized. We are so blessed to have his continued leadership in the organization! #terrysmith #cbm #canadianbaptists See more

Tidings Magazine November 10, 2020, prayer item: Lift up those in the global persecuted Church who are being beacons of light in the darkness and agents of hope in despair. Remember the Botroses, Haddads, and Joe Bridi, who are Canadian Baptist Ministries field staff at the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary in Beirut, training leaders who often face opposition when they return home.

Tidings Magazine November 21 and 22 Prayer Item Join Bruno and Kathleen Soucy, Canadian Baptist Ministries' Latin America team leaders, in praying that they will be able to hold planned SENT teams in 2021. Pray, too, that the Bolivian government will make wise decisions regarding restrictions: 50 per cent of the population has contracted COVID. Tidings Magazine November 4 Prayer Item Praise God for the $300,000 Canadian Baptist Ministries contributed to overseas relief during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the help of matching grants from the Government of Canada, the Canadian Foodgrains Bank and CBM were able to channel $8,000,000 of aid to Lebanon after the August explosion. Praise the Lord, too, for the special fund set up in memory of Rev. Robert Berry, former general secretary of CBM, to provide training for future leaders.
