A huge thank you to the Ambassade de France au Canada for a successful Gout de France Gala dinner in support of the BGCO yesterday! Thank you to Ambassador Kareen Rispal and her team Vincent, Maxime, and Chef Laurent. Also thank you to Chef Emeric Beccaris and the team at Curated by Beckta for volunteering their time. Even though the in-person dinner in April was cancelled due to COVID restrictions, the team came together to offer a gourmet dinner-at-home experience. Check ou...t some of the photos of the delicious dinner featuring the best ingredients of the Loire Valley and wine from France! Thank you for your initiative and continued support of the BGCO!

Last week, healthy snacks were brought out to our Don McGahan Cohort groups with special thanks to the @OttawaFoodBank who make monthly deliveries to our Members! Last week our kids were treated to coconut water, fruit and veggie smoothies - yum!
Through a partnership we have with the Manor Parc Community Council, we’re supporting families with a meal and lunch snacks every Thursday. Last week, Josh Cassidy from the Manor Park Community Council dropped off dishes of food to support our families in the #Vanier and #Overbrook neighborhoods. He also came with Chef Peter Gareau from the Governors Walk, who donated individual boxes for our Members to take to school for a healthy snack. The meals are prepared by Food for... Thought Café through a grant provided by the Canadian Red Cross and the Canadian Federal Government @redcrosscanada @ESDC_GC
It’s with great sadness that we share with our community the news of Rosie Warden’s passing. Anyone who’s ever spent any time with Rosie knew just how special she really was - her energy was absolutely contagious and we know that so many of our Members truly looked up to her. Rosie was an important part of the BGCO for over ten years. Many of us have fond memories of her as a part-time staff, Senior Youth Worker, and eventually Manager of Camp Smitty.... Rosie and her family are in our thoughts, especially this week, as we remember all of the wonderful memories we had with her. (Rosie is pictured here third from the left.)
