" Un Mal pour un Bien!" You gotta do what you gotta do. A resurgence of covid-19 = Bistro Le Chat Bleu now closed NO....NOT FOREVER! Just ending our restaurant season slightly earlier due to the current pandemic situation.... We dislike taking this tack but feel committed to being part of slowing the curve of infections. It'll be lonely without you this December and we'll miss you. But as of Thursday, November 26th, we will be closed. Sadly, this will include the New Year's Eve Dinner we were planning to host. We'd like to thank you for your patronage. Despite the challenges, it was a fun year and delightful seeing you again or meeting you for the first time. We may re-open earlier than usual, either mid winter or earlier in the spring so keep posted. Much peace, good health and zen moment during the holiday season. Can't wait to see you again next year.

Life is so interesting and you never know who might call. Adrian House is a musician singer/songwriter from Newfoundland who is touring the Maritimes. Yup... you read it right, by BICYCLE! He will be regaling us with his songs on Thursday, October 22 from 7 to 9pm. Space is limited due to covid restriction so call us to reserve your table.

New Season, New Inspirations = New Menu

Busking in the courtyard this Sunday, September 27th Susan and Lee have been playing music together for close to 20 years. They both have a love for blues, jazz, instrumental and original music. Between the two, they cover guitar, bass, harmonica, percussion, lead and harmony vocals. They look forward to bringing their music to le chat bleu! Looks like it's going to be a nice day. Join us. If you've been coming to the Bistro over the years, you'll know this person. Kate has been with us since the get-go. Her generous spirit and warmth has invited you in and her friendly and witty sense of humour has made you laugh. In addition to regaling you with stories, her unending work behind the scenes has helped develop the vision of the Bistro and carry it thru thick and thin. Kate is returning to her first love, her career as an elementary school teacher. Her grade one students will no doubt have a very creative and nurturing learning experience. Congratulations Kate. Thank you for your dedication over the years. We will miss not having you around as much (good thing your school is just down the road - espresso and chocolate milk to go anytime).

A week of magical moments. The lovely Santos serenaded us with the accordion, delightful babies came to visit and we took in the beauty of a double rainbow over the marsh. Summer is good.

Our Lobster Tartine might have been the star of the show last summer, but its time to share the spotlight! The announcement of the provincial borders opening on July 3rd has the phone ring-a-linging, and has us excited to be reunited with many of our guests! Although we have been open a month now, we are continually reflecting on and modifying our safety and operating practices. We are dedicated to maintaining high standards of safety and to remain diligent during Covid times. As much as we have tried building a reputation on being welcoming and going the extra mile to accommoda...te our guests, this year our commitment to keep our staff and guests as safe as possible must come first. Here's how you can help support us with your understanding and patience: * Timing of your reservation might have to be slightly earlier or later than you'd like. This allows us to properly sanitize the space, and ensure social distancing when you arrive and depart the restaurant. Thank you for being flexible in your timing! * Consider reserving during quieter times- we have had to remove half of our tables to maintain distancing standards, and so we will fill up quickly during weekend evenings. Why not consider a lunch-time or week-day date instead? :) * Just bring your favourites! With fewer staff this summer and the rules about not 'bubbling' with too many people, we are limiting our table size to 6-8 people for the time being. Time to rank who you love the most! * Please try to be prompt in your arrival time. This can make a big difference to the flow of the evening, and ensure that people aren't waiting around for a table. We are not able to seat guests at the bar at this time, which is where we liked to keep you watered and happy last year! Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, for your love and support. "Le Chat Bleu" turns 5 years old today! Many years ago, our beautiful place was empty and in need of some love. Much credit goes to William Ogilvie of "One Fish" whose innovation helped create our lovely Bistro. It took nine long years of renovations before the doors opened. Since then, there have been so many delights, friendships and creativity. À nous tous. Baie Verte redécouvrie. Bravo!

Our Bistro family has grown a little bit sweeter! We are sending huge love to our lovely Brandy on the birth of baby Violet last week! Brandy has been such an important part of our team since 2016 and has deep roots with the Bistro: her grandmother used to work in the building when it was a variety store in the late '80's.
