PvZ is always fun to do as it's been huge in our household for years too. As someone who has and is raising kids (and truthfully is a bit of a kid at heart still), I love creating special shirts for children. I know the joy they're going to bring, that feeling of amazement and anticipation to be able to show it off to friends and family. Henrietta Lacks was probably the most influential person in medicine that the world doesn’t even know existed. She got cervical cancer and died when she was 31. The hospital doctor who treated her, took a piece of her tumor before she died because he realized that her cells never died and had never seen anything like it. These 'HeLa' cells have been replicated millions of times and have created an endless supply of immortal cells that have literally changed human life.... Because of her cells, the world got a vaccine for Polio, cloning and in vitro fertilization were developed, scientists discovered humans have 46 chromosomes, repairs to DNA have been made, anti-Cancer drugs have been developed, and they also provided the basis for making certain genetic diagnoses. Pharmaceutical companies have been making billions of dollars from replicating and selling these HeLa cells over the years. Her family was never compensated, nor were they told until recently that they've been in use all this time. Autism affects everyone

Happy New Year, tee-friends! I usually use NYE to reflect and semi-plan my intentions for the upcoming year. I came to a personal business realization a few months back around my thinking/speaking and I was clear this was to be my 'resolution', just come-early. Bored Shirtless Tees got started as a way to keep me occupied while waiting for a job offer in an industry not quite ready for female tradespeople. I'd had my own business before but was just going to do this 'until'.... Then, surprise! It really took off quickly and I loved doing it. I got to combine a few decades of customer service experience with a creative and entrepreneurial nature. I decided I'd give it 5 years to see if I could make it successful. And when people talked to me about it, that's how I'd always explain it. (I'm currently in year 4.) What I didn't realize, until a few months ago, was the undercurrent of my thinking was that I was waiting to see how it would all turn out and then decide my future direction. I've been treating the business like a wait and see. Like it was all up to fate. 'I've' been making it successful, but undermining myself at the same time with that underlying thought. The early New Year's resolution is that Bored Shirtless IS. No more wait and see. Bored Shirtless IS a success and will continue to delight its tee-friends. And in that realization, I have invested in the business to take it to the next level. This year, we will have a whole new line of products to offer with a new technology. We will still offer our amazing DTG tshirts, but we will also be able to reintroduce things like onesies, hoodies, phone cases and more! Exciting new things like hats, jackets, pants and SHOES! The possibilities will be endless! Other things we are considering offering with the new technology once production is in full swing is the ability to provide your own garments/items to print on, partnerships with other artisans to provide the art to go on their glass, wood, plastics, etc. And potentially, the ability for other vinyl or sublimation tshirt makers or want-to-be makers, the ability to offer our next-level technology through their own businesses. CUSTOMER SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT I've been struggling with an issue with my Cdn supplier for months now. They are no longer carrying certain items (like hoodies) and so I have to import from the US. This doesn't work well for my business as I'm having to turn away so many orders and customers either because of how long importing takes or simply because I cannot ethically charge someone something I wouldn't want to pay, even for DTG (direct-to-garment printing.) My whole busines...s has been about providing THE BEST AVAILABLE PRODUCT at a fair price, old-school customer service so you KNOW your business means something to me, and a personal investment into your design/event/reason for purchase such that your item not only makes YOU happy, but I'm PROUD to give it to you too. I can't do that right now for hoodies, crewnecks and a few other items. So I'm not going to 'promote' those until I can find a better solution. Yes, I can still do them and will, but only for those kinds that you just can't get from the vinyl and ink transfer makers. And know, I am working on a solution, I just don't think it'll come to fruition before Christmas.
