WINTER REMINDERS With snowy weather in the forecast tomorrow, it's timely to remind folks about the process for snow clearing during and after a storm in Bridgewater. See the post attached here for detailed information from the Town of Bridgewater. And remember -- if it's calling for snow or ice, you need to plan ahead and secure off-street parking during and immediately after the storm. If you leave your vehicle curbside and it obstructs snow removal, your vehicle may be towed at your expense under Section 139 of the Motor Vehicle Act.

INCREASE IN PHONE SCAMS THROUGHOUT NOVA SCOTIA REPORTED Police across Nova Scotia are advising the public to be aware of a number of phone call scams being reported throughout the province. The phone scam involves someone calling from what may appear to be a 1-800 number, a local phone number, or even a phone number associated with law enforcement.... Generally, the caller says that there are issues with the individual's Social Insurance Number (SIN). The caller then says the person will be arrested if their personal information is not provided. The callers behind these scams say they are calling from a specific federal agency and request the individual's name, date of birth and SIN. Police are advising anyone who receives a call asking for their Social Insurance Number, or any personal or financial information, to request a name and a call-back number and verify the institution requesting the information. Anyone who suspects they have been targeted in a phone scam is encouraged to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501. For more information about common fraud scams and how to protect yourself, visit the Canadian Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre's website at https://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/index-eng.h
