Such an privilege to have Kiefer Jones a part of #TeamTK Golf has been Kiefers passion his entire life. He first picked up a plastic golf club at the age of 18 ...months. At the age of 15, Kiefer would routinely shoot par beating many of the adult golfers. A week before his 16th birthday, while on a family vacation in Mexico, Kiefer got an upper-respiratory virus that attacked his optic nerve. Overnight, Kiefer lost 60 per cent of his vision. He went from 20/20 vision to 20/800. He was diagnosed with Bi-lateral Optic Neuritis and was declared "legally blind. Kiefers peripheral vision was fine, but his centre vision was just a big blind spot. Following his diagnosis, he stopped playing golf. In his 20’s, Kiefer decided to return to sports. He returned to golf as well as playing blind hockey. Kiefer decided that he wanted to become a teaching Golf Pro and he passed his PGA Playing Ability Test. He later determined that becoming a Canadian PGA member would be a difficult career to pursue because of his disability. He decided to make the most of this disability and after a lot of hard work, Kiefer has got his game to where he is the reigning Champion at different National events. Not only has he represented Canada on the world stage in golf, Kiefer has also gone on to be a member of the Canadian Blind Hockey team. 3 x Canadian Blind Open Champion 2 x World Blind Open Champion Italian Blind Open Champion New South Wales Blind Open Champion Australian Blind Open Champion

Michelle Liu Becomes Youngest Winner Of B.C. Women’s Amateur Championship Lui started the final round Thursday tied at even-par with 15-year-old Lauren Kim of Surrey. Liu took charge right from the start. She drained a 20-foot putt for birdie on the first hole, where Kim three-putted for bogey. She quickly had a two-shot lead and never looked back. It was a bit of a slider and making that putt was instrumental, I guess, Liu said. It got me rolling. Lauren Kim of Surrey finished second one-over 71 and Luna Lu of Burnaby finished alone in third place at six-over par. B.C.
