Parks Canada has been excited to assist in the recovery of the threatened Hill’s Thistle by planting 300 in Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park in 2017! In partnership with the University of Guelph, we continue to monitor their growth today.

The cooler, shorter autumn days also means that the water temperature in Georgian Bay is getting colder. If you’re planning to do any water activities, please be very careful and make sure you have all the proper equipment. Cold water means that hypothermia can set in quickly. http://ow.ly/CRGV50wZvjd

Parks Canada’s fire crew is still hard at work in Oregon! Finding and extinguishing embers and removing fuel before another fire starts are important tactic...s to control wildfires. Sophisticated technology, such as thermal imaging cameras, can be used to help identify these hot spots. Often, fire crews have to dig through layers of duff or cut deadfall to fully extinguish the embers. #Thankyoufirefighters #Thankyoufirstresponders Jasper National Park Grasslands National Park Rouge National Urban Park Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park Pukaskwa National Park Parks Canada NWT #PrinceAlbertNP #WoodBuffaloNP
