We were happy to work with Commission for Environmental Cooperation on this case study in hopes to promote changes in the future of food! http://www.cec.org//th/flwm-theme/documents/bruized_en.pdf

Imperfect? We're pear-fect!! Bruized is proud to partner with @reyesfarms! We give new life to pears that don't *quite* meet market standards- be they too small, too big, or too wonky! We upcycle these farm fresh fruits into naturally sweet, caramel-like bits that perfectly compliment with the rich, roasted @chocosoltraders cacao featured in our Salted Choco-Pearamel cookies... Wanna taste the goodness + join our fight against food waste? Visit us at bruized.com for more! . . . . . . . . . #pear #imperfect #upcycled #sustainablesnacks #upcycle #vegansoftoronto #uglyfruit #sustainablebusiness #ecofriendly #chocolatecookies #chocolate #glutenfree #vegan #plantbased #supportlocaltoronto #torontovegan #torontosmallbusinesswomen #torontolocalbusiness #eatbruized #bruized

63% of food tossed in Canada could have been eaten with the most commonly wasted foods being vegetables, fruit and leftovers Although we share a lot about the issue of food waste and its negative implications, there are some positive happenings in the world of food waste too! In June 2020, the National Zero Waste Council commissioned market research, so they could better understand the impacts of COVID-19 on consumer behaviours related to food waste. The research showed th...at 24% of Canadians are wasting less food than usual Staying at home is definitely not our favourite way to pass the day but has led to a small win for reducing at home food waste

When your breakfast looks this gorg, getting up in the morning doesn’t seem so bad Featuring organic bananas, local apples and organic beet, carrot and pear juice pulp, Pulp Crunch helps you pack in your fruits and veggies without even noticing Start your day off bright... @danikazandboer

Imperfect produce comes in many forms - these beets were not able to be sold at retail value because they were slightly too small - but otherwise totally delicious and spotless! A lil throwback, we used these beets to make cold pressed juice at one of our farmers markets last summer Beets are totally zero-waste veggies as you can eat the whole thing from leaves to roots ... Even juiced, their pulp can still be used, if you are feeling creative (as we were when we developed our Pulp Crunch)! Hoping your week is off to an unBEETable start! #sorrynotsorry

Making a pesto can be a great way to use wilting greens - no need for basil if ya don’t got any! Kale, spinach and even any root veg tops work wonderfully to make a quick pesto sauce you can put on pasta, sandwiches or use as a dip! Previously shared in our stories, we thought we would give this tutorial a more permanent home Making a pesto can be a great way to use wilting greens - no need for basil! Kale, spinach and even cilantro work wonderfully to make a quick pesto sauce you can put on pasta, sandwiches or use as a dip!

Loving this illustration by @growmija and the idea of balance, although oftentimes, to achieve it is easier said than done. Our diet, personal life/work complex, sleep, social interaction, social media usage, and mental atmosphere are all elements of our life that can get thrown off by the slightest change or circumstance No matter how balanced or unbalanced pieces of our lives seem to be at any given time, know that it is pretty much impossible that anyone in this worl...d has it fully together. The only thing we truly have the ability to control are our actions and reactions. What strategies do you use to recalibrate when you feel off-balance? Let us know!
