How often should you see the dentist? Dental Care for Children's Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Saher, lets us know how often we should be visiting the dentist for check-ups. And while you're welcome to visit us anytime Dr. Saher recommends seeing the dentist every 6 months for a check-up. ... Why? Even if you take excellent care of your teeth and gums at home, you still need to visit a dentist regularly. Your dentist can check for problems that you might or might not see or feel. A lot of dental problems, like cavities or the early stages of gum disease, aren’t visible or painful until they are in more advanced stages. Sometimes, the issue might be preventable and more easily treated in the early stages. Your dentist will be able to see this and find a solution that will save you more pain in the long run. Prevention really is the best treatment! We look forward to seeing you!

Prevention is the best treatment! To prevent cavities, you need to remove plaque, the transparent layer of bacteria that coats the teeth. The best way to do this is by brushing and flossing your teeth twice a day. Brushing also stimulates the gums, which helps to keep them healthy and prevent gum disease. Brushing and flossing are the most important things that you can do to keep your teeth and gums healthy. DentalCareForChildren.ca

Baby Teeth are responsible for smiling, chewing and helping to position future adult teeth; giving the face its form. They vary in shape, size and their location in the jaw; but generally baby teeth will begin to erupt at about 6 months of age. Take a look at our Tooth Timeline Chart below and feel free to share it with your family and friends.

When it comes to kid’s crafts, homemade slime is one of the best! It’s easy, quick and super inexpensive. Kids always have SO much fun playing with it! SUPER EASY SLIME INGREDIENTS: 8-ounce bottle Elmer’s white school glue... 1 1/2 2 Tablespoons contact saline solution, more as needed 1 Tablespoon baking soda Food coloring, optional Add glue and food coloring to bowl. Squeeze the bottle of glue into a bowl (photo 1). Add your food coloring if desired, and stir until combined. Then mix in baking soda (photo 2). Mix in saline solution. Add 1 1/2 Tablespoons saline solution and mix until combined (photo 3). If it’s too sticky, add 1/2 Tablespoon more solution at a time. The more you add, the thicker it’ll be. The less you add, the slimier it’ll be. Knead the slime. Using your hands, knead the slime until it holds together. It will be wet and gooey at first, but just keep kneading until it all comes together. That's it! You can also save the slime and store it for later in a container with lid, or in a zip top bag.
