Christmas Eve "Traditional Tasting" Tortiere: 2 prepared pie crust 1/2 C Organic Green Lentils (Soak over night or hot water 1hr, discard liquid) Sauteed onion... Cooked lentils 2C Mashed potatoes 2C 1/4 C Nutritional yeast 1tsp thyme 1/2 tsp cloves 2tsp ground nutmeg 1tsp groundcinnamon 1tsp ground allspice Salt/pepper to taste Hotwater Method: Hard saute onions, add cooked lentils, water (enough it doesn't stick to pan) spices, Nutritional yeast, allow to thicken while mashing to desired consistency. When cooled to room temp add to prepared pie crust, top with second crust and then egg wash upper crust (vegan? Wash with butter sub or ricemilk)preheat oven 425 Convect Bake 35mins ish....allow to cool before serving Actually great reheated! See more
