The River Forecast Centre is maintaining a High Stream-flow Advisory for: Cariboo region including tributary rivers around Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, Quesne...l and surrounding areas. Environment and Climate Change Canada weather forecast for Tuesday, November 17 at Williams Lake and Quesnel is for a maximum temperature of 11 degrees with periods of rain. These forecast conditions, combined with the relatively high flows and likelihood of low elevation snow melting, could lead to another significant flood event over the region beginning on Tuesday and continuing to the end of next week. The public is advised to stay clear of the fast-flowing rivers and potentially unstable riverbanks during the high-stream-flow period. Please make sure your driveway culverts are free flowing so if water does rise it will flow through and not back up.

Can first responders see your address? Visible, standardized signs make it easier for emergency responders to find a home or business address quickly in the event of an emergency. Often, emergency responders are travelling to remote locations with address signage that is barely legible, if there is a sign at all, and every second counts. The Cariboo Regional District has a program with local sign companies for standardized house numbering signs. The signs are available to all... A senior housing survey was created on behalf of the North Cariboo Seniors’ Council and deployed by City of Quesnel, Northern Health and the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) with links to the North Cariboo Senior Council website. Here are some of the key findings in the infographic below. NCSC will be issuing another survey in early December to determine preferred housing options for seniors in Quesnel & North Cariboo RD in order to support and encourage appropriate residential development in our community. The higher the participation in the surveys, the better for the community! The full housing survey report is located on the North Cariboo Seniors' Council website https://www.caribooseniorscouncil.org/
