Learn to Sail lessons have ended for the season. We would like to say a BIG thank you to everyone that made it possible for us to host activities at COSA this year! We are looking forward to what is hopefully a more traditional 2021 sailing season!
COSA employs many wonderful young coaches during the sailing season. In the future, you may be lucky enough to be taught by Tyler or Ian, two 14 year old volunteers giving up their summer to learn more about how to become great coaches. Most of of our coaching staff volunteered for three or more years before becoming certified to coach!
Sadly, we are almost completely sold out of spaces for sailing and windsurfing lessons this summer, but we can still book limited private lessons for August. E-mail us to book a private/semi-private lesson or to see what classes may still have room!
A great start to summer lessons!
In preparation for Summer Lessons, and with the support of COSA coach Ian, COSA coaches Zane, Alizon, Katherine, and Mackenzie took a weekend of training on their pathway to becoming Level 2 coaches. And longtime volunteers Cole, Ryan, and Gabby became Level 1 coaches! Gabby is the fourth sister in her family to become a coach, while Ryan is the first 2nd generation coach at COSA. We thought we’d share some new (and a couple old pictures) to show how far the coaches have come!

Lessons are almost full, but there is still some room in our youth windsurfing classes. Worried about Social Distancing and looking for a ton of fun on the water? Windsurfing!
A late start is better than no start! New regulations should allow us to run summer programs this year, but how to ready the fleet while following social distancing rules? Thanks to four of our amazing coaches being sisters, summerzing our boats was a piece of cake! We thought it would be fun to share what Alizon, Katherine, Mackenzie, and Gabriella looked like when they started at COSA! The coaches are looking forward to seeing their eager sailors again this summer!
