From the July 23rd Standard-Freeholder: We’re not asking businesses to enforce the mandatory mask-wearing, Roumeliotis said Thursday. We just want to remind them to provide directions to their employees. We also want to have signs that encourage shoppers to be wearing masks. According to Roumeliotis, business owners have to make sure the employees approach any shopper not wearing a mask that enters their premise. From there, a friendly reminder has to be issued.... If they don’t wear a mask after that, it’s not the (business’) fault, he added. But if someone enters the business while not wearing a mask and isn’t approached by an employee, then that’s when the business is at fault. In light of this clarification from EOHU re mask-wearing, maybe businesses should consider asking shoppers who are unable to wear a mask while shopping to wear a friendly sticker?? It might ease the worry and lessen "dirty looks".
And we also updated the side window graphic that greets visitors, because most ask, "Where's Bella?" Sadly, she passed away on May 16th after a quick but drastic decline in health due to an unexpected diagnosis of cancer. We miss her terribly but know that she is not suffering and "On Duty" with past CCP pets, Sam, Rusty and Levi.
Also posted, just to be clear...
Our previous front door signage listing "the rules" and explaining why our door was locked was NOT working... YES, WE ARE OPEN! But we have some Covid-19 requirements due to the size of our reception area. So we are going to try this signage approach... short and sweet, colourful and cheerful. Do you think it will work?
Getting ready for the upcoming mandate: face masks will be required in public places in Eastern Ontario... I just placed an order for more of these disposable masks to replenish our dwindling supply. Pre-packaged in 10s or 50s. Send us a message, call 613 933-0444 or e-mail [email protected] to order. Be smart, be considerate, be safe!

26 years ago today Cornwall City Press changed ownership. Partners Wendy Grant, Bob Blair & Ginny Blair began the adventure of being print shop owners. So many changes since then... so much technology, so many signs, and so many dogs!!! LOL Thank you to everyone who has remained or become a loyal customer. We truly could not have done it without you! (And and huge thanks to my terrific team: Rox, Raven, Felicity, Maureen, Andrew and Liz! ~Wendy)

Getting ready to open up and welcome back employees and customers? Our order of surgical masks is expected today or tomorrow; there are about 250 unspoken for if you need some. Also on its way is Gelax hand sanitizer in 4L jugs. And ready to ship are blank, reusable Liquid Crystal Thermometers. Of course we are still making floor and wall decals and signs to help with your distancing plan -- custom designs always possible. E-mail me if you would like any of the above! [email protected] WE CAN DO THIS!!!!

Came back to work today after a few days off and found this job had been completed -- a beautiful 128-page book written by Beverley Runions, bursting with historical facts and colourful pics, all perfect-bound with a full-colour soft cover. You can purchase this keeper at the Williamstown Fair this coming weekend, August 9th thru 11th. An added bonus: Bev will be on-hand to personally sign your copy. Congratulations to Bev for this very well done labour of love, and to our designer Felicity Svenson for the beautiful page design and layout. You make a great team!
Here's a bit of brand repair put out by Bombardier... the reason for my posting? I did not know that all these things were invented by Canadians! How many did you know? https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=60&v=8rfMXVq2Hl8
All our beautiful history captured in print by Cornwall City Press!! Was great to see Wendy & Raven out mingling after all their hard work.
