While popular wearable tech such as the Apple Watch and Fitbit keep track of a user’s heart rate, Dastmalchi’s device goes much further. In addition to taking ...a wearer’s pulse, it uses biosensors and machine-learning algorithms to measure blood pressure, respiratory rate, blood oxygen levels, body temperature and the heart’s electrical signals. She says such bio-signals can help detect symptoms of illnesses such as COVID-19 earlier and ensure patients in high-risk facilities such as retirement residences can be isolated more quickly.

Meet Laurel McKellar-Senior Director, Curation, Exhibitions & Program & Uzma Bhutto- Operations Coordinator, Coalition of Muslim Women of KW Exhibition Opening September 19: "Beauty in Islamic Art". Today was the opening day of Beauty of Islamic Art, which is reflected in artworks by Ontario-based artists for whom their Islamic background in intertwined with their multi-layered cultural identities. ... This is the fourth year that THEMUSEUM has hosted an Islamic Art Exhibition during the Islamic Heritage Month period. This year's Annual Exhibition runs from September 18th through to December 18th, 2020.
