Distance learning is on the rise. But with online learning comes a need for (plenty of) self-motivation. Learning from home comes with many great benefits. You have near-total flexibility over studying hours, you dont have to change out of your pajamas if you dont want to, you can have snacks whenever you want and, no time is wasted while traveling from one place to other. But it isnt without its drawbacks too.... In the world of online learning, you need to be dedicated, focused and committed. So here are some tips to keep yourself in tip-top shape. Get into a routine: It is generally easier to stay motivated if your studying becomes part of your everyday life and routine. If that routine is waking up at the crack of dawn and getting all your work for the day done by midday then kudos. If it means waking up at midday, slowly making yourself coffee and breakfast and starting work at 2pm then thats okay too. If you allow yourself to drift from one day to the next, you will struggle to get much done. Act like you have a specific time to do everything. Find whatever works for you and stick to it. Plan Your Day: Know what you have to do that day (and do it!). Get a planner and make sure you give yourself clear goals, targets, and deadlines for the day. This way you will manage your work effectively and make sure you get everything done. Accept support From Others: Its okay not to feel 100 percent on top of things all of the time. Who does? If you have a little wobble (or a big wobble in fact) remind yourself there are people there to help. Email your tutor, reach out to a friend or confide in a family member. A growth mindset occurs when we believe our intelligence and abilities can be improved upon with effort and the right strategies. A willingness to confront challenges, a passion for learning and viewing failure as a springboard for growth are all characteristics associated with a growth mindset. Not surprisingly, this type of mindset is strongly linked to greater happiness and achievement in life. Developing the right mindset early on is crucial for a successful, happy life. Arduino has taken the world by storm. An Arduino board is a small electronic board that can help you create innovative circuits limited only by your imagination and creativity. The device is very handy for preteens/teens and serves as a great learning platform to get introduced to the world of microcontrollers and electronics. What is Arduino? Arduino is a company in Italy. The company produces 2 core products; Hardware and Software. The hardware is easily programmable by usi...ng the software. Which allows people to build real-world projects with them. How Arduino Works? Basically, you write a program in a specific code on your computer and upload it to your Arduino board. Your Arduino board will now run this code every time you power it up. Your Arduino board is usually connected to inputs and outputs. Like, a button is an input and a led is an output. Your code will be reading all of the inputs and controlling all of the outputs. For example, an Arduino board might be connected to a light sensor and a led. Your program might say, "When the room gets dark, turn on the LED." Obviously, it will be coded more specifically than that, but that's the thought process behind it. What do children need to Begin with Arduino? Your children won't need much to start programming and making awesome stuff with Arduino. For example, they can get started with just a single Arduino board, and a single LED.
